We've avoided the steakhouse cuz we don't bring formal attire. But, we'd like to try it on our upcoming Alaskan cruise + it seems to me I read somewhere it's cruise casual on the first nite. can someone please confirm this. I did a search + it turned up nothing. TIA
It's never formal in the steakhouse, just no shorts.

YW. With MSC, on a seven-night cruise, there are rwo formal nights, and one of them is designated "Italian" or "Mediterranean" night.
Wrong info the Italian night is not the formal night.

I just realized that the shows require reservations for each night. Can we do this online or does it have to be done onboard? I don't see anything on the website to do this or a showtime schedule. Am I missing something? Thank you.
When you board.

We have some drink vouchers which we didn't used on our cruise. Thought we could use them on our next sailing but now realized they may not let us use them after March. Any one confirm this is the case? Thanks. We have 20+ vouchers.
DL
Throw them away.

We just booked our first MSC sailing on the Seaside in September. Just got off of the NCL Bliss and while on board we spoke to some ladies who had recently been on the Seaside and said the entertainment is great. Then when we got home, we read some (admittedly older) reviews that said the entertainment was terrible. That the main theater was primarily opera and that the other acts throughout the ship were often just solo singers or musicians with no real bands. Also that the comedy was bad. Can anyone who has been on the Seaside more recently offer us some reassurance that the entertainment has improved since those early reviews? What can we expect as far as main theater shows, as well as smaller performances/venues throughout the ship?
MSC has the best entertainment of all the lines.

How early would you say someone staying in a Havana Cabana 2 doors down from a clamshell would need to get out there and get one in the morning in sea day?

First time MSC cruiser. We are on the Seaside on March 9 (7:00 PM departure). My boarding docs state that my "Check-In Opens at 16:15)". What time do they really start the boarding process?
Around noon.

Seaside pools are deep 6 ft 4 and 6 ft 5. The Divina has a shallower pool the aft adults only pool 4 ft 6.

Yea, yea..I know. But I did search! We are NCL folks who have just booked an MSC YC experience, mainly because at the moment it is such a better deal than NCL's suites. But anyhow, since the YC is totally inclusive, do you still (if you actually do) tip the individual servers as they deliver drinks and again with each meal in the YC restaurant? Yes, I do do that on NCL. Anyone doing that in the YC?
Not really , we will tip at the end .

Planning our 44th cruise for next January. We have sailed on just about every line from Carnival, Seabourn, NCL, Regent, Princess, RCCL and Celebrity. to Windstar. Last cruise in January was on HAL Koningsdam. We had a great time. However, the service did not sizzle. The cliental was a bit old. We were just "ok" with our experience on HAL. We have enjoyed Celebrity's Aqua Class as well as Princess Club Class. We are looking at the Divina sailing in a YC1 Category. The itinerary is perfect. But, frankly, it is a lot of money to spend to check out a new cruise option. Since I always post my reviews on CC and I really value your opinions, I need help to determine if the MSC line is a good fit for us right now. We are 71 & 72, but, we like lots of options and love to dance. The one thing we loved on HAL was the BBKing lounge and the Rock and Roll venues. I know nothing about MSC. I have heard on CC that the Yacht Club is a great option. What are your thoughts? Is it worth it? What about tips? I know drinks are included in the YC area, how about the rest of the ship? Should we take the plunge?
Drinks are free all over the ship and yes YC is fabulous.

Other than formal nights would dressy shorts and polo shirt be acceptable attire for a man ? I noticed someone say no jeans. Hubby would normally wear nice jeans and a button up shirt out to dinner. Soooo what exactly is the dress code ? Don’t wanna break the rules we are rule followers lol but does he have to wear khakis every evening?
Shorts will be fine.

My family and I, including my husband and 2 teenage boys, sailed on the Dream out of NOLA 1/27/19. On the fourth day my husband went to the medical center with what we thought was flu. He was misdiagnosed with a bronchial infection. The next day, my sons got sick.
Monday they both went and both are confirmed to have the flu.
Our second half of our cruise was spent in bed and me being a nurse.
What are the chances Carnival will pay my dr bills and reimburse me for the lost days?
please help...my vacation was ruined...many people and crew were in the medical center sick as well
Carnival will not pay for a thing. Cruise insurance is the way way to go.
