  1. This thread has been VERY helpful. I'm thinking we will just grab a taxi or the $20 tour.

Turtle farm, how much time should we plan? I was there many years ago with a guy we grabbed at the pier but I don't believe we saw it all just a gift shop and round tanks with turtles. Would a taxi, bus or $20 tour be best?

We would like to see an actual rum factory tour, see the making not just tasting or a Brewery. What would be best?

Also thought about the gardens but not sure if it would be boring?

Any thoughts on a plan to do this stuff? I would also like to see the blow holes and nice views along the way.

    Thanks in advance!!!!!

  2. We just returned from Grand Cayman. We rented a car at Cayman Auto Rentals - 10-15min walk from the pier. It is very easy to drive in GC. All of the roads are very well marked. I'd veto the person who doesn't want the car rental. We drove to starfish point and then back to Rum Point for the Day. We had a FABULOUS time!

Please tell me more, thinking of renting a car. Did you book ahead? If so any deposit or pre-paid? How was traffic and driving? How was parking? We leave Friday and this is the one island I didn't book anything yet.

    Thank for any help.

  3. Contact Jacques Tours Jamaica and ask if he will do the tour that you want. We arranged for a tour with him in February and he has been incredibly responsive and accommodating.

We have not gone on the tour yet, of course, so we don't have personal experience with the tour itself, but the trip advisor reviews are all glowing and my experience coordinating the tour has been great so far.

Thanks, what did you book to do with him? Does your price include admission fees.

I got one quote, $150 for transportation only plus admission fees which comes to $165 per person for the 2 of us. Not sure if that's a great deal might just book a group private tour.

  4. We have our options of what we want to do narrowed down. I can't seem to find a tour that fits our wants.

    Would like to

    1) Visit the working Plantation

    2) Stop and visit the Dolphin Cove

    3) Then be dropped off at Island Village

Anyone know of a tour company that has a tour like this? There is only 2 of us so can't book a whole tour just for us.

I have checked most all tour companies websites listed here. Either it was a poor website to find info or no tours listed we wanted.

    Liberty

    Maruyn

    Peat Taylor

    Courney Taylor

    Phil Lafayette

    Jaital

Jaital had the closest option with Best of Ocho Rios tour, it does Dunn River Falls, Plantation,Greathouse and Dolphin cove.

We have no interest to go to the falls, we did that years ago, wouldn't mind a stop at Blue Hole but we have no interest in getting wet.

What would be our best option to do 1,2, and 3. ? ANY HELP MUCH APPRECIATED!!!!

  5. Need to be back to Dockyard by for 3pm sail away. What's the best option for 5 people to return? We're thinking of buying bus pass but might not be good option. What time would we need to leave the beach?

How would you do HB on last day? We're leaving Sun and this is the only day no rain is expected.

  6. Great ideas and tips.

A few questions, if you don't mind.

Do you have directions and can get me to a site that has them to the sea glass beach in St. George? Mom gets around fairly good, she has COPD and needs to rest but does good.

How much are the tokens? I will figure out where we plan to go and which is best for us.

Do the chairs sell out at HS beach? Anyone know the cost? That would be perfect.

The blue taxi tours, do you book them through the ship, ahead of time or in Bermuda?

Maybe a day at St. George's would be nice, any other things we could do on the way there and back?

Thinking of staying at the Dockyard or last day in Bermuda, any suggestions what not to miss there?

Thanks for all the great tips!!!!

  7. I'm looking for suggestions of what you did or have planned for Bermuda? Please included if you would do it again and the reason why or why not. Looking at do it yourself things and ship excursions.

We leave next Sunday 10/18. 5 people 2 couples in their mid-50's early 60's, and my 77 year old mother.

Things we would like to do and would love tips on.

Go to a sea glass beach for just a few pieces-How and where?

Go to at least one Pink sand beach? Which one has chairs to rent for my mom?

Any other suggestions with not too much walking? We plan to get the bus pass.

Thanks in advance for any tips and suggestions.
