  1. Thank you very , very much for telling about your dad @superoma who you recently lost and who I can hear you are really proud of ! I loved reading this , you made my day ! Tony 😍
  2. My Corner Brook pictures and “adventure “ from all the way back in 2009 , and I can still remember the day very clearly , it was a very “wet “ one ….. A special phenomenon is taking place here , usually in this location near Corner Brook , called reversing tide which really you have to see that happening in person or on a good video . Take a step back dear ..... This smile disappeared a few minutes later ……… Martha said just back up a little , same I told her kiddingly a few minutes earlier , and think I took one more little step …….which was fatal …….this fairly new ramp had already moss growth on it and I went down flat on my stomach up to my belt into the water …….. soaking wet about 15 mins later I went back to the bus and the driver who wanted to be helpful and save his seat laid on old tarp on the seat …… which had ink or still wet pain on it …… well I continued on the tour with all the others and DW laughing I even went into the small towns church basement where the church ladies were having a special sale , they did not have towels ! ……. My nice comfy pants did not come home with me !!! She was laughing so hard and forgot to take a picture while I was trying to claw back up out of the bay. I should have joined Eddie and Chris and gone out fishing ! Martha made up with me that evening going to a nice Indonesian dinner and watching the crew show ! Loved Corner Brook . Tony 🤣
  3. I believe a bad mistake is to scrap the delicious soup with the sea food they have had for years and years under a couple of different names for me that is bringing back the meal from 2 to 1 coarse with a little bit of appetizer ........... so maybe no more Canaletto for me !
  4. I have not posted here for a long time while on the cruise for six weeks and touring The Netherlands , than afterwards had to catch up at home and planting a couple of large veggie gardens . BTW Thank you all very much for the many BD Congratulations posted here while we were on the Rotterdam for Martha and myself we had no Wifi for most of our cruise , but heard all about it from our friends on board ship . It was a wonderful Anniversary Cruise . Have to show a few pictures of our very nice full day tour from Dover with @Overhead Fred seeing the White Cliffs of Dover , Leeds Castle , the Chunnel Entrance , Canterbury Cathedral and the very pretty medieval town of Chilham . From the top ..... ...and from the bottom . From where everybody and everything gets loaded to go through the Chunnel to France . Amazing and very busy organisation ! Gardens of Leeds Castle Chilham First beer tasting and lunch ......... ....and than church . In the Norman - Gothic style of the 1400's You have seen a lot of Canterbury Cathedral today , so mine are not needed ! Still here and in business after 473 years , just a little bit askew . A Great Day was had by all with Ed and his Taxi in Dover ! Tony , sailingdutchy 😄😄 Have a nice weekend everybody .

  16. Yes that is correct @StLouisCruisers we were on that same cruise from April 6th until May 20th , 2019 and said Goodbye to the Prinsendam in Amsterdam . It was a wonderful cruise and we went to a lot of Ports we had never been to and where likely we can not go anymore with larger ships .
  17. Thank you very much Jacqui @kazu for keeping up this List , sometimes I will double check here who else of our cruise friends are on a new booking which often makes for an easy decision . Thanks to all for the Bon Voyage wishes we are looking forward again to go back to sea on a BHB ! Tony 😄
  18. Good morning to all of the Daily organizers and all the loyal followers . It is a very grey and cloudy day here in SW Ontario , I would love to show some of the pictures from our day in Alicante when we were last there in April 2019 . On one of the Prinsendam’s last cruises for HAL we landed in Alicante and I had set up a double walking tour with a very good guide first we went to Castillo de Santa Barbara and afterwards we did some nice walking around the town itself . In our nice group there were also Jacqui and Jose @kazu Hope I don't duplicate too much with @StLouisCruisers pictures A distinct view of the Castillo from sea level , for most of the way up we used the elevator however the last few and quite steep hundreds of meters we climbed ourselves. It was a beautiful clear and very warm day , and we had great views from up there ! We had to find shade wherever we could to listen to the many stories of our guide , also of the horrible years under Generalissimo Franco when many prisoners were imprisoned here Beautiful architecture in the downtown The Mercado Central All the food in the market made us hungry and thirsty One of my favourite pictures of the day “ Who is leading who ?” Just stay in the shade There also is a story about this image of a face in the rock …….. 3.15 time to get out of the heat and go back Home to the Prinsendam and drink a nice cold beer , but a very nice day was had by all in Alicante , Spain ! Tony 😄 Thanks for the reminder @JazzyV it is only 7 more days , I better go back to work filling my suitcase .....
  19. I know from the past the flights are very long but we loved our New Zealand / Australia cruise and the Transpacific . I am also hoping to return to New Zealand at least one more time ! Liked your option to fly to Hawaii first and break down the real long flight in two ! Also from experience in Asia pre -Covid lockdown spending 13 days at sea roaming around there was nothing wrong with that fine ship . Good luck Fred deciding !
  20. Few pictures of our Cairns visit in 2015 , on the way up to Kuranda we took that nice train ride and on the way back we chose the Skyrail over the rainforest which was wonderful . Sorry (……. yes I am a polite Canadian ) I have not posted much lately , busy getting ready for one cruise already leaving next week and three other ones for the near future , but I usually do read quickly the Daily . Thanks to all contributors and in particular the people who keep this day in day out going , thank you very much, you know who ! Here is proof we were Down Under Have a great day everybody ! Please take care and stay safe ! Tony😄
  21. @Real NHDOC I just went to my itinerary and looked on the wine packages and it says for Cellar Master #2 it is $341.02 if I select that it shows the full price when I go to my basket to purchase , when and where does the discount than finally show up do I have to stand in line at Guest Services when I get on board ship ( We are 5 * Mariners ) . Or am I doing it incorrect ? Thank you
  22. We also have wonderful memories of the Prinsendam , " The Elegant Explorer “ and that name really suited her . She was graceful , stylish , refined , tasteful ……… We only had about 13 weeks on her but she spoiled us forever Just a few pictures from 2016 and 2019 for old time sake The gorgeous Pinnacle Grill Restaurant , here Jean Francois telling us all about wine Captains Quarters where we were invited for pre dinner drinks by Captain Christopher Turner An amazing dinner Yes , the real Rosenthal Versace Medusa dinner and special stem wear The now retired Captain Turner Our friend Rifki in the Lido and Canaletto , saw him last year as now Dining room manager on the Oosterdam DW getting instructions for "sabering " the Champagne bottle with the saber , she did it perfectly. Farewell dear Prinsendam Tony
  23. We had the pleasure to be in Hobard , Tasmania back in 2013 while on the Oosterdam which seems now ages ago , so just a few pictures today from the port and the gorgeous park we visited BTW Tasmania was named after Abel Tasman a Dutch seafarer , explorer and merchant , he was the first known European explorer to reach New Zealand and the Fiji Islands and the Van Dieman’s Land ( now Tasmania ) Nov 24 , 1642 . The kangaroo and her kid The devil Our wonderful guide Judy from “Eye See “ Tasmania , the " purple lady " who gave us a wonderful day and a delicious home prepared picnic out in the wild ! Guess this is now also from the good old days an open flame BBQ out on deck Have a great day everybody Please Take Care and Stay Safe Tony 😘
  24. Hello all , just quickly before supper time , A few of my favourite whale pictures from our 2015 cruise on the Zaandam to Antarctica and this scene went on for about 30 minutes when about a dozen of Orca’s were feasting on a baby Humpback whale about 70 yards from the ship . Just an amazing scene from the animal world , it was great that our captain stopped the ship and we were getting closer and closer . Something I will not easily forget . Take care and have a nice weekend everybody ! Tony
