Can we please get an idea of who is approved and who has a visa. Include days it took at different phases if you know. Nobody seems to be getting anything in the last week or so.

It means you are now in line waiting for the visa to be sent to you by email. Dont ask how long. There is no pattern to this stage it seems.

Sad thing is that there is no pattern. Once you have approval nobody knows how much time elapses before getting your visa. I have mine but my wife doesnt. Both were same timelines all the way through to approval and now nothing.

Celebrity have stated no boarding without visa if there is a Brazil port on your itinerary after April 9.

I think the timing also depends in what embassy/consulate they send it to. Mine was issued out of Montreal but my wife's is still approved but not issued.

Hopefully they are bright enough to look there. TBH I have never had to apply for any visa so not sure if this is normal. Aside from website glitches the photo requirements are a common request based on discussions with other sites.

If you have a twitter account, you can contact them going that route. They do respond but sometimes a couple of days later. I havent a clue what this process involves. I was hoping to have a simple formula for others to go by when my visas were in hand but it seems that there is no method to the madness

No clue sorry. I also went to Captains Club before CEO and they had a similar dismissive answer, so I suspect it is well known in the company.

Try CLIA. The other cruiselines have taken initiative to assist passengers. HAL, Norweigan, Regent and Oceana all are involved in some manner helping their clients. Celebrity for whatever reason choose not to. I have sent it to the CEO and they called me back. I really dont think they understand the magnitude of the problem. This is not an individual that cant get a visa because if his/her own problems, this is a failed visa program whereby a simple process is not being accomplished.

I know it is not an option. I was suggesting it is easier doing it manually via paper than a system that basically doesnt work online. VHS are an agent for the Brazilian Govt and have created a nightmare on this site. I tried a file that didnt upload but my others did. That was last Friday.

I wouldnt take that risk of assuming anything. We have 3 months of lead time. They are approving some visas so it has more to do with the way people are sending in the files I think. If this was done at a consulate or embassy we would just fill out a form and give them photos.

I have already gone that route. They basically washed their hands of it. Their argument was that visas are the responsibility of the individual and they deal with visas with many countries thus this one is no different. I really dont think they understand the extent of this problem and for people who are not on cruisecritic how on earth would they figure this out. I suggested they get their legal dept involved. They are just not interested in assisting. Passengers. In fact they arw not even letting people know that a visa is required. My suspicion is that after final payment they will. I am always suspicious of intentions.

I doubt you are doing anything wrong. Their website is a disaster on multiple levels. If you plan on going back to Brazil in the future, it is worth getting the visa. If not I wouldnt drive myself crazy trying. So are you suggesting each document is vetted at different times? You can be asked for documents on different emails? That is concerning because we are trying to create a timeline. When did you submit originally?

So an update for the Visa. I spoke with VFS the company that provides the service on behalf of the Brazilian Govt. They are sending in a request for an update for Canadian Provinces. It appears that the person doing the input stopped at Quebec going East to West so no other provinces are able to be populated. I also asked if as per the persons recommendation to just put in another address of a relative or friend in province that is listed. DONT DO IT because it will not match other documents like banking or credit card. That really was poor advice on an otherwise well put together powerpoint of how to apply. The fellow I spoke with gave me the impression that they would have an update to the website in February. I guess we wait. If people are struggling I suggest contacting Celebrity to put some pressure on via their legal dept. it is all very well to sell a cruise and expect the individual to obtain a visa but we will be in a time warp as they dont require visas before April 10 which leaves us just 10 days to get it. Based on what I am reading online, most are taking 3 to 4 weeks currently.

Nightmare website. I spent the good part of the day getting documents and photos at the prescribed sizes and also combined all travel docs into one folder for ease of use at the other end. Get to phase 5 which is name address email etc. 1. Address would not allow enough characters for my full address which is just a normal address. 2. Drop down menu did not include British Columbia. Would not allow it to be put in manually. 3. Presumably because the Province wouldn't populate, neither would the postal code. no clue how to proceed at this time. Unbelievable process for a cruise port stop. Cruiseline said no boarding if you dont acquire a visa. So cannot stay on ship for the day to get around this.

Ah I see. The way you described it sounded like you were not happy with the specific ports. That being said I love sea days. Do a transatlantic most years so it wouldnt bother me. Cant believe they will be stopping in Lahaina. Guess it is the only tender area for that side of the island

That trip is brilliant. I have done it four times. I woukd say that the only port I didnt like was Hilo. Not sure what other ports you were hoping for. Hawaii is a beautiful relaxing location.

It would be on your cruise documents and most likely on the govt website of Brazil . Should also be on the US Govt traveller alerts for that country.

For sure that was invasive and unecessary. Personally from what I have read it was the file size or the format that caused problems. And of course the missing ears lol.
