  1. Left Center Right!

It's a really fun dice game and I'd never heard of it until our Panama Canal cruise a few years ago. We played nearly every sea day. First game we had about 30 people show up. After that there was always 15-20. It's a great way to get to know your fellow passengers. We made lifelong friends on that cruise.

Here are the rules to play (better than me trying to explain it! ;p)

We used dollar bills instead of chips so $3 per person per game.

You can get the game on Amazon for around $7.

P.S. I like the roulette idea!

  2. When using the Valet Service it includes transportation via Bus to airport! We did not understand this ahead of time and had pre-booked our ride. It was explained while we were curbside; so be aware if use use the service and want the ride.

Explained to you by who? BirdTravels (who used the Port Valet service) reported after the inaugural Bliss Alaska cruise that the shuttle was $20 p/p. Motegi used a flat rate taxi for $40. He said you must specifically ask for a flat rate taxi which we were planning to take as there will be 3 of us. Free would be way better! LOL! We do plan to use the Port Valet service.

Just trying to gather all the information I can.

Enjoyed your review! Thankful to all the people posting about Bliss in Alaska.

  3. Thoroughly enjoyed your review and pics! Thanks for posting.

You'll LOVE Denali National Park. We did a land package on our first Alaska cruise. The highlight was a mama bear with her 2 yearling cubs getting within 100 ft of our bus. I thought we'd tip the bus over with everyone rushing to the one side to take pictures. LOL! We also saw a huge male moose in the distance. I don't even know how the tour guide spotted it. We had to use binoculars to see it. The tour guide said it was rare to see a moose. Hope y'all see one too!

Your review makes me even more excited for our upcoming Bliss Alaska cruise in September. :D

  4. First time on Breakaway...

We are in a Balcony 9224.

What kind of coffee maker do they have in Balcony rooms?

Starting chemo next week for approximately 6 months. Trying to decide if I should try to switch to a handicapped cabin for the bathroom facilities. Don't know what kind of condition I will be in, but I am going. After my 2 surgeries last month, I do sometimes now use a wheel chair for long lines.

    Thanks

    Pat:)

I can't help with the coffee maker question but just wanted to say I will be praying for you. My SIL was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer about a year and a half ago. She's been through chemo, radiation, double mastectomy, complications and more surgery and lastly reconstruction surgery about a month ago. She has continued to work through it all (except recovering from surgeries) and we all pray this is done. She is a strong woman!

It wouldn't hurt to book an accessible cabin. I have mobility issues and don't book accessible (yet) but I do have a Hugo (walker with big wheels - not those tiny wheels). You might check into getting one of those. I got mine for about $100 on Amazon and it has a seat with storage area underneath. It's been a lifesaver for me.

    Prayers and good wishes!

Edited to add: I think if you get a doctor's prescription for the walker, insurance or medicare will pay for part or all of it.

  5. You can book at guest services or as you exit the terminal, they will sell you a pass. Lots and lots of buses continually leaving.

Because of the very limited street capacity at the terminal, NCL is pushing Port Valet and airport shuttles.

Another question about the shuttle. I use a walker. Do the shuttle buses have a place to store this?

The Port Valet and airport shuttles sound like a great idea to me!

Once again, thanks for the amazing photo travelogue. Really appreciate all the work you did to make it happen. I feel like I know absolutely EVERYthing about the Bliss after your review. :)

  6. I've been following along since you started this thread and just wanted to pop in to thank you for the travelogue and amazing pics. You are a GREAT photographer!! Appreciate the pics and ship info. AND the Seattle info. You are an active young couple! Hubby and I have been to Seattle twice but this will be my mom's first visit. She's 88. She is just a wee bit excited about the whole trip. LOL! :D(We're on the last Bliss Alaska cruise of the season - Sep 22.)
