What number/department did you call?  I may try to get this added to my Encore booking.  I would try to get it added to my Dawn booking in January but I bet that won't work since it's 70 days away and already includes double points because we booked more than 9 months in advance (it was before the rule changes).

Since I no longer have a PCC, I just called the main call center number 866-234-7350. I was on hold for less than 10 minutes which is unusual.

  2. On our Alaska Bliss cruise 3 of the 4 classes offered were associated with the cruise. I guess the tulips in vase is a standard on every itinerary. My 88 year old mom took all 4 classes. There was a whale tail and Northern Lights. I think the other one was a countryside but there was a glacier in the background. I did the Northern lights class with her. It was lots of fun! We signed up first day through the concierge with no problem.

Edited to add: Our instructor, Alex, was giving out some of his older paintings for souvenirs. There were a couple of beach scenes, one with a palm tree.

EDIT: Helps if I read through all the post before responding... I see now the deposit was the issue.

Hehe. Yep. I got it all squared away. I just bought the regular CN's knowing I would book the Haven but I didn't want to pay for the Haven CNs. It's still a $500 payment towards the cruise even though it didn't cover any of the original deposit since I did it online. I'll take it.

I called Mr Cold-Call and left him a message. We'll see if he returns my call. It would be nice to have a PCC again.

Hmm.. I have had the same one since I started sailing Norwegian. I got a postcard introducing her after my first sailing and I get regular emails from her advertising the promos. I would say if you don't get regular emails from an individual, then you would probably have to call the main number and explain that you are looking to be assigned to a new PCC. I am sure they could assign you a new one. And then once they do, you should have that person's direct contact info for future bookings.

I had a PCC that was cold-calling me all the time which I found annoying but maybe I'll give him a call, if I can find his info. LOL! Haven't heard from him in a while.

My original PCC was great until she moved departments - to CruiseNext, no less. Now I can't get her to return my calls or emails. Also annoying.

I honestly do all my "shopping" for cruises online, but then call my Norwegian PCC for the actual booking. That way she can take care of that sort of thing for me. Plus, I feel like when I do my bookings through her, she is more inclined to help me out if/when things come up after the fact, like the price drops or the perks being offered change.

My PCC moved to another department and I haven't been able to get one since. How do you go about getting a new one? I'd love to have one instead of having to go through the call center every time I need something.

Weird. You may have to call. Though I also recall someone on another thread saying they had to apply one, and then go back and apply the second one in a separate transaction, so maybe try that? You could do the one and if it still won't let you do the second in a separate transaction, then you could call?

Okay, I was able to use both CruiseNext deposits online BUT I had to pay full deposit and then go back in and "make a payment" for each of the CruiseNext deposits. Still had to call to add 3rd person. For some reason when I book all 3 of us it puts my mom as 2nd guest and she doesn't want the drink package, hubby and I do. And you can't seem to add 3rd person online. So I was on hold 30 minutes to do that. *sigh* But, anyway, got it done and used both CruiseNext deposits so I'm a happy camper.

Thanks for the suggestion, JamieLogical. :)

When I tried to edit my signature I could not figure out how to do it.  When I go to account settings and click on signature there is nowhere to edit it.  I can look at the preview which is the same as my signature.  Not sure how to actually fix it though.

Just click your cursor in the box where you see your signature in account settings and edit away.

  8. We just stayed in the DOS on Bliss in September (the last Alaska cruise). I didn't even know the couch folded out into a bed so I can't speak to the quality of the bed. We only had 3 people in the cabin. The beds in the bedroom were extremely comfortable even without egg crate foam toppers which I usually request so my guess is the couch bed is upgraded from older ships.

It's an amazing cabin and deck. The view from the deck was better than from the observation lounge because there were no obstructions. Oh, and I see on NCL's website it states 2 bathrooms but there are 3.

Thanks Aprille😀 We also sailed on the Jade in the Haven and loved it. Epic is supposed to have one of the best Havens in the fleet so we would be excited about that. Something we enjoyed in the Haven was the perk of the escort off the ship while in port. Is that a suite perk with RCI on Oasis also?

I believe suite escort off the ship in port on RCCL is limited to tender ports and, in our experience, it's not nearly as efficient as NCL Haven escorts off and on the ship. I could be wrong about that. RCCL may also do suite escort off the ship at all ports but I don't recall ever using that perk if they do have it.

Our first 2 Haven experiences were also on the Jade. Even that small Haven sold me! The one on Bliss was awesome. We're thinking about trying Getaway next time.

Sotermarler, thanks so much for writing this. We also love NCL but are thinking of trying Oasis. Your review was very helpful. We live very close to PC so we are deciding between NCL Epic in the Haven or trying Oasis in a suite to splurge for an anniversary. Thanks again!

We've sailed RCCL 15X (3X on Oasis) and NCL 4X (3X in The Haven - twice on Jade, once on Bliss). We are Diamond Plus on RCCL and always sail in suites. RCCL has nothing to compare to The Haven experience on NCL, in my opinion. RCCL has a dedicated restaurant/area for breakfast and lunch for suite guests. On Oasis it's the Concierge Lounge. People talk about the limited menu in The Haven restaurant. It's even more limited on RCCL and the food it not as good in dedicated RCCL suite restaurant vs The Haven restaurant. Again, in my opinion.

Oasis is an amazing ship. I've never been on Epic. But I would choose The Haven experience over Oasis any day.

How big as these paintings? Not sure how if it'll fit in my luggage or carry-on.

12"X16". They are attached to an artist canvas board. They're very easy to pack. My mom packed 4 in her medium-size suitcase with no problems.

See the picture I posted earlier in this thread for an idea of the size.

If DW signs up would I be allowed to attend and keep her company ? I'm not interested in painting. Would love to just hang out and observe.

Yes. You can hang out and observe. I did (and took a few pictures) during my mom's first 3 classes. As long as you're not disrupting the class, no problem.

Oh very cool. Great job and it looks like fun! Do you sign up for these in advance or once onsite? Do they fill up? Are kids allowed? So many questions...sorry 🙂

You sign up once you get on board. Classes fill up quickly. There are only 12 or 15 slots available per class.

Not sure about kids. How old? There were no kids in any of our classes (except 60 year old me with my 88 year old mom - lol).

    $35.

Correct. And sunsetsoon (my mom) took all 4 classes on our recent Bliss cruise. I took the last one with her. It was lots of fun and our instructor, Alex, was great. He was heading home (Romania) after our cruise. Not sure when/if he'll be back on the Bliss but he got a Hero Card from both Mom and me.

  15. We stayed at Hyatt House Seattle/Downtown a few weeks ago. I have mobility issues and use a walker and we were travelling with my 88 year old mother. Even with that, we were in easy walking distance of the Space Needle and Chihuly Gardens. The hotel has a free shuttle service (not to/from airport) if you book it in advance. It was booked up the day we wanted to go to Pike Place Market so the hotel paid for our cab fare! The included hot breakfast alone is worth the stay. The omelettes are really good! We also used the hotel shuttle to get to the cruise terminal. Wonderful, friendly staff and great location.
