Just off the Brilliance TA, our cab ride to ship was $25.00 plus $5.00 tip. They were not letting Uber into the area per a cruiser trying to use that service.

Thanks for the replies, the website is clear as mud. Have no clue what my preferences are. Guess I will call DP desk on my layover.
-
I went on line this morning looking at my preferences, but couldn't find them. We leave on the Brilliance soon.
If I am reading this correctly they have changed the perks for the Diamond Plus members to no access to Concierge Lounge.
Drinks in the Diamond Lounge will be discounted 25%, wine and soft drinks free during Nightly Event? Is this correct.
I haven't been on the boards lately other than my roll call.
Am I in for a surprise when I board, we are Diamond Plus level.

Thanks good to know I had trouble finding them. I have slow Internet so it was frustrating. I went into a store today to set this up.

So I ended up buying the passport plan with unlimited free texts as that is what my plan at home has. I will pay $.50 per minutes for phone calls and have a small amount of data. Free wifi hot spots in some cities, probably useless.
I will get the internet package for the days we are at sea and use the passport plan when in port.
It is interesting that you can't find information on ATT about the country code numbers that you need to dial in order to use this. They did give me an international number if I ran into problems.
This took some research to find the best plan to fit our land and cruise vacation.
I hope others still chime in and give helpful hints to others that are doing research.
It seems like each carrier has different prices etc so info will be helpful to future cruisers.
Happy sailing and thanks for your imput.

My experience with shipboard satellite phone service has been less than spectacular. Conversations can be difficult. Perhaps there was just bad satellite coverage when I used it.
This is my concern for our transatlantic. Paying to keep in touch but not being able to use it. I know Internet is very iffy at times.

I used their international plan on the Brilliance Northern Europe cruise as it was a port intensive itinerary. The calling plan works just like at home, you won't notice a difference in calling, but you're limited to 50 minutes of included calling. Unfortunately, texting is not included, so you pay $.50 per text. As a result, I just used pay per use for texting if I needed to contact family from the ship.
Did you have to call with any additional area codes numbers or did you just dial the 10 digit number to the person at home. Do you remember what incoming texts cost? Was there a delay in the connection time when calling. Just trying to figure out what will work best for us as I need to stay connected when we are on the ship. From what I have read you can not check emails with this plan, it is just calling and texting.
Thanks for your help.

Trying to find out how well the calling worked at sea. Did you use your plan at sea?

We are on a transatlantic cruuse in a few weeks. I am doing research on the cruise line package with ATT. Has anyone used it, if so what are your thoughts about it.

Curious what time do they do aerial acts?

We lift bed up and use the open suitcase as a dirty clothes hamper.

Love 9256 an amazing cabin. No noise issues.

Our cruise is 15 nights long.

Hi gang, we are on the Brilliance TA trying to get some help with a Northern lights watch. Huge group, 50 plus cabins, with suites and diamond plus down. Is Charmine the person to contact?
-
Patty, thanks for the link, guess we get four days. I still wish it was minutes as I just want to check emergency things at home. Do you know what it is per minute outside the for days. Guess I better research the ship emergency call number for the Brilliance.
Thanks again for your updated info.

Well bummer don't like the two day Internet on a 15 day cruise.
Liked the minutes a lot better.

Doesthe roof cover the entire balcony?

I wasn't contacted by TA. I contacted him after promedic (Greg) got a call from Celebrity. He was not booked with a TA so maybe they are getting in touch with individuals first.
-
I guess the magic number is 5. I have 4 with Royal and one with Celebrity. Back to planning Transatlantic with Royal.
-
I normally do not book with a a TA. This is a first with the TA and first with Celebrity. We are Diamond Plus with Royal looking forward to my third crystal block. I was so pumped with my aft C1 cabin I talked a friend in joining us. I looked at other sailings...the after are gone. It isn't just putting in for vacation it is my aft cabin. I book my cruises around an aft cabin. Feeling really bummed.
If I understand things correctly they won't talk to me since I booked with a TA.

So frustrating I have to put in for vacation. It isn't like we can all just wait for the big corporate people to sign the dotted line.

Thanks for the replies. It sounds like packing for our Alaska cruise. We had such a mix of weather bringing the Serenade up the seaboard. I froze in San Francisco and was shedding clothes near Hubbard glacier.
Don't want to over pack, but I sure hate being cold.
-
Are the water proof shoes a must? This is my most challenging cruise to pack for since some tours will be on water.
We are from Texas so 40F is cold to us.
Thanks for info anymore suggestions on brands to buy or what to pack?

We are bringing the Brilliance back from England September 3, 2015
Trying to figure out what to pack in the suitcase.
We are stopping in Iceland, Faroe islands, Cork. I have found information about Cork, but not Iceland or Faroe Islands.
Any helpers out there?
Carry on

Cabin availability could be a little later than 1 PM so keep that in mind. I was told by a fellow cruiser that wine needs to be in your carry on. We try to pack things in carry on that we need to use in case luggage is late.
