Shame how things have changed.I remember on a repo from Alaska to FL with Coral Princess King crab legs and local wild salmon in the buffet and MDR with no queues anywhere.

He and I share the same bad luck.In the Chilean fjords the Captain announced "whale on the bow".I went running up there to no avail. When I came back my mrs said he popped up right outside our balcony. -

When I worked for Thames water, sewage works used to treat human poo and sell it for use in agriculture.I think it was called sludge, but I don't think you'd see it in B&Qs. -

In our village in Italy,a car was sort of essential but there were Brits that didn't drive who used the local buses on a regular basis. Not very frequent but they knew the timetables by heart.Just research local buses where you're thinking of going.Funny enough there is a lady flying there today who is pushing 80 and still manages to get a car thru a small local company.Good luck,Brian. -

Years ago when we went to Nagasaki on Diamond Princess the captain said we'll get special treatment cos she was built here.On the sailaway there was marching bands and allsorts.I believed it all these years until our friends posted a video of them on QE last week with the same bloody band.On the same cruise he said we've got special permission to sail thru Victoria harbour HK with a laser and firework show all over the city.It was impressive but I don't think it was down to us. -

You were right ,it is closed, couldn't see the sign on the door unless you walk right up to it.At the end of our road there is the Railway hotel,a Innkeepers lodge pub/hotel.Probably not as quiet as the Devonshire though and no pets or racehorses cos the stairs are too narrow. -

Thanks, that's confirmed it for me.Anywhere a 2 hr drive away,we'd only do the ships tours anyway. Not worth it for a similar historical town. -

We're going there with Celebrity over Christmas. On the itinerary it says Cadiz for Seville, but it's 2 hrs from Seville. Our daughter says Seville is lovely but I think we will stick local.
