Princes Cruises Adds Coveted Opportunity for Guests to Experience 2024 Total Eclipse On Monday, April 8, 2024, a total solar eclipse lasting as long as 4 minutes 28 seconds will be visible as the moon's shadow is cast across parts of the North America, and a view at sea may very well offer one of the best vantage points. The total solar eclipse is one of the three remaining worldwide this decade, and the one visible from North America until 2044. Princess has adjusted its 15-day ocean-to-ocean Panama Canal cruise aboard Emerald Princess after selling out the 10-Day Mexican Riviera cruise with Total Solar Eclipse on Discovery Princess. During the voyage departing Los Angeles on April 5, 2024 sailing to Ft. Lauderdale into the Mexican Riviera, through the Panama Canal and across the western Caribbean, the 3,080-passenger Emerald Princess will catch the total solar eclipse on April 8 between Cabo San Lucas and Huatulco, Mexico. The itinerary also includes stops in San Juan del Sur Costa Rica, Cartagena, Grand Cayman and Ft. Lauderdale and is on sale now with starting rates of $1,699 per person. Guests will gather on the top decks and be given special glasses they can wear to safely view the eclipse as astronomy and space exploration enthusiast Fred Cink helps guide their viewing experience. Guests will also enjoy specially-themed drinks and bites during the coveted event. The Discovery Princess making a late arrival to Cabo. I was just chatting with the F&B Director onboard the Discovery via Whatsapp, they have 4,100 passengers onboard. Cabo is about to get real busy!

Good morning Cabo San Lucas! The Princess Discovery and the Carnival Panorama are also scheduled to be here today. We beat them. We are the first ship scheduled to leave today. Debbie is going ashore to shop and I'm at my happy place, The Sanctuary. Having been here about 8 times in the past 2 years I figured I would skip the water shuttles.

My DW caught that and said the same thing.

How funny! We didn't notice. It must have been those margaritas at lunch. 😆

We just returned to the ship after spending a great day in Puerto Vallarta. No problems whatsoever and the town was full of tourists. Tomorrow, Cabo San Lucas.

I find it incredible that Princess would pass up the opportunity to hype this new restaurant before we all know about it from passengers onboard. But then again, nothing surprises me anymore with their marketing! 👀

We had a fantastic day in PV today. After doing a little shopping next to the cruise terminal at the old flea market shops, we walked out to the streets to hire a taxi. Taxi's are not allowed into the terminal area. They want you to use the 12 passenger share vans (they charge $5 pp). We walked out to the street and found a taxi waiting for us. Ride to downtown was $15. There was very little traffic and we found the Malecón area to have a lot fewer people than when we were here for New Year's. Photos from the Malecón, Old Town and river area: We had lunch at our favorite PV restaurant, Pipi's. We have been eating at Pipi's since the early 90's. They never dissapoint. Today we had coconut margaritas and the "crispy shrimp" tacos. We came across this t-shirt, a motto that we will have to revisit after this 5 week trip! 🍷🥂🍹🍺🍸 This little boat was docked right behind our balcony. They added this art display to the terminal building since our last visit. The umbrellas are suspended in the open air.

We came back from the port to find an invitation to a MTG Cocktail Party. This was unexpected! We already had the two luncheons as this voyage encompassed two back to back cruises.

We are docked in PV and passengers are free to explore...
