  1. The rain has totally bypassed us. My little rain gauge says it's been 10 days since any measurable rain. We did get a drenching in Seattle yesterday though.
  2. Have you tried asking at the place where you donate if they have boxes you can use? Any Costco nearby?
  3. Have you tried putting out a saucer of beer? That seems to attract them and hopefully keep them away from the plants. For some reason, this year we have a bunch of snails along with the slugs. Where did they come from? Ugh!
  4. 😯Why did I dream of a giant mechanical tick (sort of like a robotic Godzilla) last night? Nightmare material, for sure!
  5. DH thanks everyone for the birthday wishes. His wish is that he was 76. 😅This year he reached 77. He's celebrating by mixing and pouring cement for porch footings. What fun! His gift from me is the November cruise I just re-fared and saved over $1000.
  6. I asked about getting smaller bottles for our prescriptions and it is possible. It just needs to be done in person when it's time to refill. We usually do our refills by mail.
  7. We booked a tuk-tuk tour and had so much fun-squeezed through narrow streets and up and down and in and out everywhere.
  8. I booked early and kept a watch on prices. I think I rebooked 3 times for a lower price. The senior price ended up better than the member price.
  9. We were on the Discovery Princess in April for the solar eclipse. I'm trying to decide whether Princess or HAL is my favorite. As mentioned, the 24-hour International Cafe is great! And I love their closet set-up. The Crowne Plaza San Pedro (Las Angeles Harbor) is a convenient hotel to the port. They run an inexpensive shuttle. We flew into LAX on AlaskaAir and used Uber to the hotel. It was interesting that the 20 minute ride from the ferry dock to SEATAC was the same price as the 40 minute ride to the hotel.
  10. Would love to know your magic potion for the moles. Miserable creatures along with the miserable deer! And the Seattle area never did see any rain. I finally gave up and watered the flowers.
  11. I love the snoopervising! Will have to remember that one. Susie
  12. Now associated with Princess Cruises---Head of Princess Culinary Arts - Rudi Sodamin
  13. SeaTac has had ongoing construction for quite awhile and baggage claim is the worst. We picked up friends yesterday who are sailing with you and the arrivals area is a mess. The 3 large trucks picking up cruiser luggage didn’t help. Too bad the don’t have a different area for that. Have a great cruise!
  14. My addition to the Garden Club. The poppies have gone wild this year. And the da** deer have been munching on the sweet William and the lupine!!
  15. Amazon has several that are very similar. Would hate to see you stop traveling 😊!
  16. My dad was also in the 3rd Armored Division. I'm pretty sure I have that same book and his VFW hat. His unit was one of the first to enter Nordhausen, one of the last concentration camps. He had nightmares for many years.
  17. Dive In is a nice choice. If you're early enough, you can try the main dining room.
  18. You can call your TA after final payment to ask about a paid upsell. At the time I did that, the price for the Vista was actually less than what we'd gotten the verandah for, but the trick was asking for a paid upsell rather than just an upgrade.
  19. I really like Coldeze (I think it's a form of zinc). Two or three of those a few hours apart, seem to nip a cold quickly.
  20. @wandbWe were in Athens the first part of October several years ago and it was very hot the day we toured the Acropolis. Luckily, I had my umbrella in my backpack in case of rain. Worked well for a sun shade instead.
