On Indy 3/21, that's within 7 days so hope we hear today. They moved Grandeur to Coco Cay the day we could have went so that's out. Hope it's not the easy choice of Nassau. We were just there.

I didn’t see they moved Grandeur there…that really stinks. I bet it’s Nassau.  Any chance they still have the tender boats at CC. lol.

  2. We’ve taken both our kids on cruises once they reached 6 months. The memories I have of them on the cruise are so much clearer in my head than the everyday stuff.

We loved it and had no problems with either of the kids. We also used the nursery which helped out a lot.  I think you’re getting comments from people that have never taken real young kids on a cruise before vs people that have.

6-9 months is easier than taking a 2 year old.

  3. I agree with 0-100. The last 3 cruises, I went directly to the concierge on night 1 before dinner in CK. I explained one of my kids needed a high chair and in the past we would wait up to 15 minutes to get one (night after night). I don’t know why it seems to be so difficult getting a high chair in CK.

That’s all we use him for. If the high chair is there each night, he gets $100, reasonable time $50 and if I have to wait 0.00.

Last 3 cruises have been $100 tips.

  4. Thank you for this thread...we have come close to booking Adventure a few times, but just ended up going with Oasis class instead. I just assumed all ships had the nursery (except Majesty and Empress) so I’m glad I read this.

We are getting close to our youngest being 3, so thankfully we will be done with the nursery. It’s so much easier just dropping your kids off and not being on a schedule with AO.

Some of my my best memories with my kids are from cruises. My oldest took her first steps on Allure.

  5. I do wonder how often cards get declined when Royal does this. My typical spending on a cruise is around $2000. What if I added another $2000 on a watch or something like that. They would basically be needing $8000 of available credit to run the card at the end of the cruise.

I really think they should tell you this prior to boarding.

  6. When this thread started, I knew it was Citibank related. Same thing happens to my credit card each time I use it for a cruise. Last time it took over 2 weeks for a $850 pending charge to fall off. I called Citi and they blamed Royal. Called Royal and they blamed Citi (they told me They continually get calls about this issue from Citi card holders).

Nothing I could do at all. Just stinks for you because it’s a debt card. Good luck.

  7. Does anyone have any info on what happens if I booked a cruise, applied a $500 off casino discount and now I can’t go. My wife is still going and the casino certificate was in my name.

We are past final payment so my thought is to just not show up and hope for the best. I would rather pay the $500 than have the cruise repriced if I call and cancel. Also don’t want to get in trouble with the casino for using the certificate for someone else.

Thanks to this thread I will NOT purchase Arcade Credits for our upcoming cruise with a 4, 8, and 11 year old.  We will leave charging ability off and if they want to be in arcade and adult will be supervising and swiping one at a time.

this thread encouraged me to post on asking how to establish a cash account and some questions peripheral to that if you want to pop in there.

I can’t agree with you more...this thread basically means my kids will not be using the arcade on any Royal ships. I don’t want to read fine print about arcade credits—-that’s absolutely ridiculous.

I am also moving close to using the cash accounts.

Actually they do take space from Adventure Ocean. Seems like the do rebuild it completely:

Nursery replaces Workshop. Seems like the Immagination Studio and the Workshop will be gone maybe also the Theater and the Sicence Lab. Arcade moves to Boardwalk anyway. The group rooms forward are much smaller (if they are still the group rooms). Hmm, with more cabins they might need some space for more kids too...

Pretty sure they will start combining age groups.  I know I read that they will test it on Mariner and navigator first, not sure if that has already started.  When I first read about Royal trying to combine AO into one large group, I didn’t think it was to get more cabins in the area....should’ve known better.

I had booked a refundable deposit inside cabin for our July 12 Alaska cruise. The final payment date had arrived and Casino Royale hadn't offered the Prime free cruises for 2019. After calling they extended my final payment a week. And the casino had the Prime list ready in 5 days. Was able to upgrade to a balcony for $700.

Worked out well but a lot of nail biting.

This is the same thing I’m trying to do next summer. We really wanted to do early July, but I’m very nervous the free cruise won’t be offered until mid April. It looks like the Alaska cruises are the best value for the prime cruise.

Glad it worked out for you.  I tried calling 5 different times and all the agents said there was no way around it once final payment hits, this at least gives an extra week if necessary.

  11. I thought terminal 18 at PE was so fast and such an upgrade over everything else when it opened. It was crazy to me how fast they could get an Oasis class ship boarded. I just assumed there was nothing that could be done to speed up getting through customs at the end of the cruise.

Then I decided to give Terminal A a try. It is without a doubt the easiest, fastest, most effective port I’ve ever been through, coming and going. I live minutes from PE and will now use the port of Miami as often as i can (and I am not a fan of Miami).  We never waited more than 2 minutes in any line.

No Wonderland or Bamboo Room. Interesting.

I do love Dazzles being turned into Music Hall.

I’ve been on 3 cruises so far with a Bamboo Room and for the most part, it’s either closed or empty every time I walk by. My guess is that it’s not doing that well.

As for Wonderland, I love it and will be eating there again in a few months, but I think it gets very little repeat business.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see either of these on Oasis, but I don’t think they make it.
