  1. Anthem adult solarium Indoor family pool
  2. Was this pool added recently? In 2014 it was not there. It is very open (not much shade and no covered pool for colder sailings), but at least some place to swim is added.
  3. H2O with pools? Which ships? There is Nothing comparable on NCL ships to what RCI offers. I’m not even talking about the fact that only Haven guests deserve indoor pools on NCL. Try to sail our of NYC area during winters. RCI has Anthem there with indoor beautiful adult solarium and indoor family pool… NCL ships only have outdoor pool areas. On most if not all of our 27 cruises with RCI kids were out of Solariums. On several they used cafe or Solarium Bistro which wasn’t a problem.
  4. If NCL rather than adding new amusements (Go carts) crated free adult only solarium(s) - I am not even talking indoor solariums or/and pools when they send ships to sail year around from NY - they would attract so many more fans!!! .
  5. 5000 is between Quantum 165K tons and Oasis 225K tons.
  6. There are 13 different menus (last time I counted). Something like Taste of (France, Italy, UK, USA, Mexico etc) also Welcome Aboard, Bon Voyage etc. They rotate depending on cruise. Some days are better than others, but overall I always can find something I enjoy.
  7. Princess is not building small ships. I think their new-builds are around 130K. Even Celebrity has new ships about this size. They have small ships even new ones, but they are for Galapagos islands. Prices... well, not for average massmarket person.
  8. Why do you need opinion of other people? Skorts are shorts.
  9. They are not building smaller ships. All newbuilds are around 100K tons. HAL is a very different line targeting different market.
  10. I do not think this will be a case. I see some ports like Baltimore losing ships as larger ships cannot sail from there. I think what you wished in the latest post is counterproductive. If RCI loses with large ships there is a possibility it won't be able to sail smaller ships too. They are in business to make money. I see Caribbean ports extending capacity for larger ships. Many are btw not as poor as before anymore. St Kitts, Nassau (Bahamas).
  11. We watched it about 5 times on Anthem... because of Terry Lavell who is extremely talented. This is an example of him performing Christmas song Show itself was interesting, but I would not reewatch it without him (we did once and it was not as good)
  12. You understand why this suggestion is made, right? For your daughter sake if anything, not because Royal has special demands. However skorts are basically shorts with skirt fashion. What answer are you expecting. Please use common logic.
  13. If suddenly we cannot drink anymore we order something that can be stored as is. Cognac, brandy...
  14. It is not economical. If they are built fare will go up for pax who cruise on them. Will RCI clientele pay it?
  15. As long as you know risks and you seem to know. Passport only costs 100+ dollars and is good for 10 years.
  16. How did you like Miracle's MDR colors and overall decor? We had better pax while sailing on ... but colors. We LOVE bright colors, but that scene was weird. As for Icon... I will wait and see videos. We like all classes of RCI, but not sure we will go out of the way (we sail from Northeast) to sail on her.
  17. Second Anthem Block. 🙂 Second overall block is from Oasis. I read reviews from upset people who do not like a new style, but for us it is a good thing. At least we won't have 2 identical Anthem's ones.
  18. We soon will have another Anthem block (280 pts). It will be our second Anthem block. First one was classic from 2021 and this one will be the new one.
  19. We had success on most tries with 6:15 to 6:30 on several ships, but it is just two of us and on last one it became more difficult, so we are thinking about sticking to what we booked for MTD times.
  20. People miss some standard (safe?) food that Classic menu had. I do not. I only miss variety in appetizers as even before menu change I switched to eating 2-3 appetizers instead of appetizer + entree (desserts were dropped long time ago). Even before menu change we usually were out in 45 minutes.
  21. Celebrity of course offers higher standards in this department. No doubts about it. There are other variables to this equation. Like number of ships offered from Northeast (Boston, Bayonne, Baltimore) for example and more. However restaurants on RCI while not perfect (X food is better), but good enough. I'd prefer existing ambiance remaining. Not too formal, not too riff raff, Nice balance. Every line we sailed with (starting 2003) Celebrity - 7 times Princess - 7 times Holland America - 2 times NCL - 9 times MSC - 2 times Cunard - 1 time except for Carnival (3 times) had something better than RCI, but overall RCI offers the best value and variety for us.
  22. Freedom and Odyssey are from different classes although we haven’t found that buffet was overcrowded.
  23. Another assumption. I actually own Crocs, I also own swimwear and many other things I do not to evening restaurant. Who is talking about Black Tie experience?! LOL. If normal shoes and pants is equal to Black Tie experience for you I wonder where exactly do you live and what do you do? 🙂
  24. Me? Noooo. However I am sure number of people who think that shorts and crocks are the most appropriate outfit for MDR definitely would.
  25. There is a reason we pick certain places to vacation and do not pick others. Certain restaurants. It is not only food, but whole experience, ambiance. Same with cruise lines. I realize that my last cruise was 5 dayer, so this probably affected passengers mix probably. We dropped Carnival because there was a big mismatch for us. Or should I say too big.
