  1. Hmm...which ship? Looking at the actual port schedule, I'm not seeing anything in berth 46 in Feb ( however, the 2/24 Joy sailing is out of B50...which is less than ideal ). If I'm reading it correctly, that is...👍 https://www.portsamerica.com/operations/cruise-los-angeles-terminal-schedule
  2. Wow...so punish the worker bee employees when the entire decision was from upper management? How nice of you...👎
  3. Wow...you have a liver of steel! 😁 And I thought I "got my money's worth"...but you just took it to another level..haha.
  4. Unpopular opinion...but we always questioned why they have to come into the room so much every day. Once a day is more than enough for us. 👍 With that said, I totally understand the resistance to change. However, in this particular instance it doesn't bother us much....if at all.
  5. We did the BOGO flight deal. This is for a cruise out of LA in mid February on the Joy. I guess I had low expectations going in...but they didn't even book the seats together....on any of our flights. And we have a connecting flight. 🤣 I spent a small sum upgrading the seats on the airline site. No big deal as I had pretty much expected it. With that said, I was hoping for better.
  6. BTW - The rep said they didn't have anymore pre-cruise reservation slots open for Ocean Blue. However, they did say to stick with our current reservations for now and look into changing them once we get on board. Apparently, they only allocate "30 percent" of available tables to pre-cruise reservations and mentioned we should have no problem changing them once on board. 👍
  7. Thanks for the tip! I turned off my ad blocker on ncl.com and now I see it. Strange!
  8. good tip...will do! Edit...Hmm i don't see an option for online chat anywhere. Any ideas?
  9. Thanks for the info! In our situation we have a party of 2...and no more reservation slots exist for only 2 people ( at Ocean Blue ). However, reservations for 4 people do exist. Will there be ramifications if I book the 4 person table but only the two of us show up? BTW - NCL will let me do this...but just wondering if there are unspecified ramifications, etc... Thanks!
  10. Ok..so would a good 'strategy' be to book reservations for our two FAS dining nights at our second choice restaurants so we have reservations...and then potentially cancel them if something better shows up onboard? Thanks!
  11. Yikes...ok I will keep looking. I was surprised at the lack of availability as well!
  12. For our sailing I see that Ocean Blue is "not available for booking". Does that mean we are SOL....or can we likely book it while on the ship? We are returning to cruising after a long absence. We used to just book the specialty restaurants on the ship. However, I guess with FAS, things fill up fast. Should we scramble and get online reservations now...or do they reserve tables for when folks get on the ship? Thanks!
  13. Hi all, Apologies if this has been asked already. We are returning to cruising after a long absence and I have a question about pre-cruise online reservations. I'm attempting to book some Free at Sea dining reservations for our upcoming cruise on the Joy. It appears to work for some of the restaurants. However, it says that Ocean Blue is "not available for booking". I'm assuming we can still book Ocean Blue while on the ship...correct? I'm also trying to book Le Bistro and all open reservations have a minimum party size of 4 ( our booking only has 2 people ). However, it did add a 4 person reservation to my 'cart' at $0.00. I'm assuming the system noticed we have the FAS dining and applied two of the FAS credits. Is booking a 4 person table for 2 people like this 'legit'? My other question is if I should even bother to book online and just wait until we get to the ship... Thanks all!
  14. If there is one thing I have noticed....there are a LOT of people that must "get the last word in", no matter what. Some people just can't seem to drop a topic until it gets unfriendly/ugly. However, it is like that everywhere on the internet. I'll typically give folks the benefit of the doubt that they are not like that in real life....but some of them certainly are like that. 👍
  15. I agree. We get the basic drink package so we can try a multitude of different expensive ( to us ) drinks that we otherwise would be "too cheap" to order. It is not "all about math" for many of us. And even when doing the math, it still turns out to be a good value to us ( however, I do realize the definition of "good deal" is quite subjective ). 👍
  16. Absolutely agree. The issue is if we didn't have one of the drink plans, I would obsess over the cost...and we certainly wouldn't try many of the drinks we do indulge in. With that said, we have done the premium plus plan as well as the standard plan and have found that the standard drinks are more than enough for us. It is actually fun to just let the bartenders go wild and create something for you.
