    IMPORTANT UPDATE

    Dear Azamara Guest,

We are looking forward to welcoming you aboard. We wanted to send you some important information regarding your upcoming sailing in May.

Due to our IT system transition, you will not be able to complete your online check-in via our website as planned. Instead, you will now need to check in at the pier on the day of embarkation. For embarkation pier address, please click here.

To ensure a smooth and seamless embarkation experience, we ask that you arrive at the pier at the following times:

    • 1:30pm-4:00pm: Suite Category Guests and Azamara Circle members in the Discoverer Platinum and Discoverer Plus tier levels
    • 2:00pm-2:45pm: Azamara Circle members in the Discoverer and Explorer tier levels
    • 2:45m-3:30pm: Guests staying in staterooms on Deck 7
    • 3:30pm-4:00pm: Guests staying in staterooms on Deck 4 & 6, and all remaining guests

Please be sure to bring your passport, and any other necessary travel documents with you to the pier. Our crew and terminal representatives will be available to guide you through the check-in process and answer any questions you may have.

Should you have any questions, please contact your Travel Advisor for more details specific to your country of residence or visit https://www.azamara.com/contact-us  for your local Azamara call center number.

We look forward to welcoming you onboard and will do everything we can to provide you with a wonderful experience.

    Sincerely,

    AZAMARA®

And I got the same email just now for a May 30, 2023 Pursuit departure. It's both amazing and upsetting that they don't expect their migration/transition online check-in issues to be fixed by eight (8) weeks from today!  Wow… must a total mess.

You can use OBC pre-cruise to reserve Azamara Shore Excursions before boarding up until two days prior to their voyage.

After boarding you can use your onboard credit to purchase more shore excursions, at which stage the balance of your OBC reverts to $US. It may also be used for upgraded beverages, Internet, specialty dining, spa and shops.

Pre-cruise, reservations booked in other currencies will display the current exchange rate to $US. This will fluctuate weekly until the first payment is made for shore excursions using some of the OBC. At that point, the exchange rate will be locked in for future purchases on that booking.

Azamara generated OBC has not been able to be used to purchase future cruises, either deposits or payments.

Any unused Azamara generated OBC goes back in to Azamara's bank. It cannot be cashed out - use it or lose it.

However if you have OBC from a Travel Agent (not Azamara generated) any unused portion of that is refundable.

Do you know if one is able to use non-Azamara generated OBC (e.g., from a travel agent) pre-cruise to book shore excursions or indulgence packages?

  3. On the Navigator in May, they also used facial recognition to identify close contacts of those that tested positive for COVID.  For example, a gentleman I spoke with said he got a call to report to the medical facility because he was sitting next to someone in the theater that tested positive.

They began to use the technology a couple of days in, then it stopped around mid-cruise. I think (purely my hunch) that they used it early over the course of several ports until they had a good “database” of the bulk of passengers’ biometrics.  It also did slow down the the embarkation and disembarkation processes, sometimes significantly.

  4. We are traveling on the Seashore soon r/t Miami.  I was wondering if it's possible (say mid-cruise) to decide to stay and book the following week's cruise while on board... if space is available at the last minute, of course?  If so, do they offer any discounted pricing - since presumably, any remaining cabins would go un-sold a few days out from the next cruise?  Thank you.

  5. Thanks very much, TusconAnnie.  Very helpful. Any indication/clues if there were guests that tested positive?  I did see this morning that Navigator is in the CDC’s yellow status… an improvement. It had been Orange while in Barbados (of course due to the outbreak down there). Enjoy your time in Bermuda!

  6. Yes indeed, thank you for the wonderful pics and commentary! If time permits, would you let us know how Regent is handling the required testing for Bermuda.  Luckily for you, Bermuda is at the end of your trip vs. the beginning like the following cruise (which we are on).  Thanks again.

  7. A heads up on Regent’s insurance for those who might be considering it.  The policy will ONLY cover up to $50,000 p/p for cancellation or up to $75,000 p/p for trip interruption (for covered reasons).  It’s spelled out in the detailed policy and I confirmed this with Regent this morning.

This cruise is now showing sold out at all categories except inside. As I recall the pattern, that was what happened just before other cruises were canceled.  I am still helping in this case that the cruise will leave from Miami on the schedule date, with a severely modified itinerary. I am guessing we will hear in the next few days…….

It has been showing this status for over a week now, and I also noticed that the Miami-Lima cruise does not appear at all on some of the “big box” TA web sites when you search on Azamara in Jan 2022.  Anxious to see the revised itinerary.
