  1. Stayed in 1020 in April this year. No noise from above.  Some crew doors are nearby and they auto close very hard, so you will hear those from time to time while the room stewards are hard at work.  The balcony cover is just the standard cover from the deck above. No overhang.  Great location too next to the T-pool, spa cafe, and across the hall from the larger showers in the locker room.  Would book this cabin again with ZERO hesitation.

We’ll be on the Millie in Alaska in July and I have a question about the set-up in Oceanview Café. So they have individual stations like on the S class ships? Our two particular favorites were the Mexican and Indian food, does the Millennium have them now?

My apologies if this question has been answered earlier in the thread but am unable to get the search option to work on my phone. Thanks in advance 😊

Yes, they had Mexican and Indian stations/sections pretty much every day.  BTW, I LOVED the refurbed Millennium.  Just about every aspect was wonderful IMHO  (room, food, service, decor, improvements etc.) except for the longer than usual waits and flustered service in Blu.  You can find out more on that in the thread about the new AQ cabins on Deck 10. No need to re-hash that all here.

To answer your question, just from my personal experience and observation... your assigned dining room is Blu. You can, with advance request, eat some meals in the main dining room at the Select dining seating area. This request, again in advance, is coordinated by the Blu maitre 'd and the Select dining staff... so, no, just to walk up and see a line at Blu and decide to go to the main dining room isn't something that is available to you. If the wait time at Blu is truly extended, there have been times where the Blu maitre 'd will offer you a dining choice in Tuscan, sometimes at a BOGO price, and sometimes as complementary, depending upon the extent of the wait time and the number of people who are waiting and the lateness of the dining time arrival in coordination with the show times, etc... lots of variables. This isn't a common practice though, in my observation which has been about 20 sailings in AQ. The bottom line is that the only real recourse you have if you don't want to wait is to go to the buffet.

After waiting over an hour one night for a table in Blu (as the time approached 8:45pm), our party of 4 got comp’d a meal on Sushi on 5.  It was very good.

We did not experience a wait longer than 30-40 minutes after that night.  But service inside Blu was still flustered at times throughout the cruise. I think those additional cabins on Deck 10 really hit them hard.

That said, we did enjoy Blu and have booked it again on Constellation.

  4. I LOVED 1020!  It was so great to be near the Spa cafe, T-pool etc.  Heard zero noise and felt no vibrations.  The only exception is that there are crew doors nearby that occasionally slam shut, and you do hear that sometimes.  But never interrupted sleep or anything like that.

I wanted 1020 again when I booked another cruise (on the Constellation) on board - and it was then that they told me no more new AQ cabins on Deck 10 on the Constellation.

  5. Having just disembarked the Millennium on April 27th - and hearing reports of noise/vibration in the front half of the new Deck 10 AQ cabins (I was in 1020) and personally experiencing occasional long wait times and flustered service in Blu... I bet this is the beginning of X figuring out the process of how to downgrade these new AQ cabins to something else.

Also, as I posted in another thread, a reliable source on board told me that X will NOT be adding these AQ Deck 10 cabins on the Constellation, and in fact may not be adding these cabins at all on Deck 10 on that ship due to the disruptions/complaints from Cosmos above.

If noise is not a problem on the Reflection in the Signature or Reflection Suites it should not be a problem in your Aqua Class staterooms.     They must have applied extra soundproofing.    Do the additional staterooms have the taller ceilings as the suites have on the Reflection?

The ceilings in the new Deck 10 AQ "wing" are not any taller than other cabins. They merely removed the spa facilities (e.g., treatment rooms etc.) in that area and added in the new cabins.

Thanks for all the information.  Do you have any pictures of 1020?  We are currently booked into 1010 & friends in 1008, both appear to be just at the edge or beginning of the area under the Sky Lounge, were those rooms that had a noise problem to your knowledge?

Amazing to me that there are these long wait times in Blu!  Prior to Luminae MANY suite guests ate in Blu for a $5.00 cover charge and there were no wait times, no "buzzers".  What time were you trying to dine?  I wonder if there is something different about service now that is taking guests longer to dine, although we always ate leisurely when we were in Aqua and no waits.  Our last time in Aqua was on Connie after the addition of the deck 11 rooms and again no wait.  I guess it will be what it is, perhaps we will have just to eat later to avoid the waits.

This is so distressing.  I have cabins 1004 and 1006 booked for a cruise in just a few weeks on Millennium.  First, why would Celebrity be so stupid as to add cabins in a location where late-night noise is an issue.  I guess this is a case of the almighty dollar being more important than a guests good sleep.  I am not a night owl.  I go on cruises to get sleep.  I live near 30 different bars and night clubs and I go on vacation to get away from this.  Aqua-class is supposed to be the extra peaceful, spa-like experience.  What a joke!

I need advice.  Assuming that noise is truly an issue, what should I do?  The second cabin is for my parents who are celebrating their fiftieth wedding anniversary.  This is supposed to be a special trip.  It appears that Aqua class is full at this point, so changing cabins now is not possible.  I refuse to allow a stupid decision by Celebrity cruise to lessen my vacation experience.  Who is the best person on the vessel to speak with if this is indeed a problem once on board.

Blu is also sounding like a stressful, crowded, and hectic experience.  Very spa-like; way to go Celebrity!!!!

It really seems that Celebrity is going downhill these days.  I hope it's not as bad as it sounds.

Off to buy the best ear plugs I can find...maybe this should be a new included Aqua-class perk!

Several people in those forward cabins told me it was more vibration (from the audio equipment) than noise. But still potentially an issue.

The cruise was truly wonderful overall, so try to go in with an open mind and enjoy. A good lesson for you though... ALWAYS check what is above and below you when selecting cabins. FYI - Antoinette was the name of the Guest Relations Director - so seek her out at the first sign of any problem.

Sounds great. We will be in that cabin in about 3 months. What about the balcony? My friend is concerned about ports to charge all those electronics. What is the new setup? Can't wait to be close to the T-pool, Spa cafe, and pool.  We have eaten in BLU many times, but the last cruise on Infinity is the first time we have had any trouble with it. The place was crowded and loud because of a large group that always ate at a large table in the middle of the room. For the first time we had to wait for a place at dinner. Maybe all those folks came from the suites.

I don’t recall how many plugs/ports, but there were many - incl at desk and at both bedsides. Always had 4 or 5 things charging simultaneously.

The balcony was fine. Standard size with new chairs (that recline a little if you want) and small round table. Nice shade/weather cover from deck above but no large overhang.  All totally adequate.

  9. The New Deck 10 AQ cabins are exactly the same as all of the others, minus the special shower.  Just a normal shower.   I looked into a bunch of balcony cabins on other decks and our Deck 10 AQ cabin looked identical.  Loved the new decor and we still had empty drawers to fill after unpacking for our 14 night voyage.

I would not go as far forward as 1008 because of noise/vibrations from above in Cosmos late at night. If you’re night owls, then maybe not so much of an issue?  There is a post somewhere that depicts where the cabins begin to be underneath Cosmos.  But I do not have access to that right now.  I think the graphic is in Jim Ian’s long thread on the newly Revolutionzed Millennium.  It’s really chock full of useful information.

I really don’t know what was going on in Blu with the waits and, at times, flustered staff.  The Hostesses at the front desk were lovely and seemed very organized, so maybe it was just an odd demographic or other situations beyond their control (like two many new AQ cabins!).

  10. Just off the ship in Japan.  AQ 1020.  LOVED the location. As a frequent indoor pool user, I loved being able to pop out to the T-pool, or for a quick bite at the Spa Cafe, or across the hall to the new locker rooms for the larger showers.

As far as location, do not choose one under Cosmos.  We heard some of our fellow AQ Deck 10 guests complaining about the noise and vibration late at night from above.  We heard nothing in 1020, and are traveling mates in 1022 heard nothing either.  Beware that there is a door next to 1024 that many crew use and it sometimes slams closed very loudly.

Interestingly, I loved 1020 so much that I tried to book it on Constellation in early 2021 after the refurb.  As it turns out, a reliable source told me that there have been so many complaints about the noise from Cosmos - that currently there are NO plans to add those new Deck 10 AQ cabins on the Constellation.  Not sure about Infinity.  I also think the crowding in Blu has something to do with that decision.

The wait times in Blu were at least 15-20 minutes, usually around 30-40 minutes, and one night more than hour. It was so bad - that on that one evening - we were ushered over to Sushi on 5 for a complimentary meal there.  Food in Blue was very good and usually the service too.  It was always very busy once seated, and many of the staff looked tired and flustered.

All in all I loved the cruise and would highly recommend the Revolutionized Millenium. Happy to answer any other questions.

  11. Just off the Millennium today in Tokyo. Did the 14 night circle Japan itinerary.  Enjoyed one of the new AQ cabins on Deck 10. Loved the cabin and location, although to avoid late night noise, choose one of the 4-5 or so cabins that are NOT too close to Cosmos on the deck above.

Everything about the cruise exceeded my expectations - with the one exception of waiting times to be seated in Blu. Some nights we were seated immediately. Some nights a 15-30 minute wait, but some nights a 45-60 minute wait.  One night was so bad (as our wait well exceeded 60 minutes) that they gave us a comp meal in Sushi on 5.

The ships’s renovations are great all around.  Great crew and general outstanding service.  Happy to answer any other questions.

  12. Great idea for a thread!  The following rates are for a 2021 15-night Singapore to Dubai itinerary on (what will be) the newly Revolutionized Constellation, Sky Suite S2 total for 2 people:

April 2: $13,819 - 4 perks (w/ premium beverage); refundable $900 deposit  (I booked this knowing the changes were coming)

    April 4: $14,819 - 4 perks (w/ premium beverage); refundable $900 deposit (increase of $1,000 like for like, April 2nd to 4th)

                OR

                $13,079 - NO perks; NON-REFUNDABLE $900 deposit

  13. I just tied to access the new upgrade web page.  I entered my reservation ID, last name of the primary person on the booking, and clicked Submit.  The same page re-displayed with no message or confirmation whatsoever.  I have no idea if this request/submission was received by Azamara.   (By the way, I also tried to enter the last name of the secondary person the booking and got the same result.)

Bonnie- is this the way the new page/site should work?  I wouldn't think so? Shouldn't there be some message or confirmation displayed?

The shower doesn't look like one in Aqua and I don't see any foot stools.  Is it possible that these are pictures of a regular veranda?

It looks this new AQ cabin on Deck 10 also does not have a sofa/love seat - but rather just a traditional chair.  That seems odd as every AQ cabin I've been in had a sofa due to the slightly larger interior space vs. a normal veranda.

Good eye.  I'm guessing an ADA compliant elevator.

Thanks... and thanks SO much, Jim, for all your hard work on this thread too! Simply amazing!!!

Is the round/cylindrical glass-walled structure next to (possibly) ADA compliant elevator (on Deck 10) just an open elevator lobby area?  I'm concerned because we look to be directly below that in one of the new AQ cabins just added.

  16. I’ve been reading several travel articles that recommend AGAINST going to Japan during Golden Week (during AZ’s very popular April 27th 2019 Japan intensive cruise) - the most busiest time of the year for locals to go away on holiday throughout the country and world. I’d hate to be going on excursions with mobbed highways and tourist sites, and even run the risk of some of the more off-the-beaten track destinations/sites being closed as so often happens from what I can gather (while the locals are away traveling).

Booked this cruise 18 months ago for the fantastic itinerary, but am only now reading up on the details and private tour options. Used to live in China for awhile, and general travel around that country during their Golden Week was a nightmare.

Maybe pick another time of year to go on a cruise to Japan? Any thoughts on this appreciated.
