Getting to Port Canaveral Early?
island lady replied to MoFarbs's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Thanks you too! 🙂 BTW....just an idea...if you do get stuck waiting until closer to your scheduled time you can always do what we do. Walk next door to Grills and have a drink, breakfast, lunch...etc. Nice place to hang out and be able to sit. There is no place to sit outside the terminal entrance. -

Go for it! Hope for the best indeed, hopefully you will not have to stand in line outside to wait for your appointed time. I have seen them set up little "cattle gates" with the times listed...but won't know until Sunday if that is still the case yet. -

The ship won't leave without you. Relax and take it as it comes. I am boarding on Sunday and in no hurry to rush onto the ship. 😉 -
My sister gave us the YF vaccine, along with typhoid...before we left Miami. And yes, we are both over the 60 plus group. BTW...my sister is doctor of infectious diseases...a professional, even the FBI consults with her on possible bio attacks. She knows what she is doing, versus the "pretend doctors" that get their information online. 😉 Definitely get John to do the YF vax. 🙂 We had no side effects at all. Contrary to pretend docs advice. 😄

No the website clearly states all cruises are cancelled. 😧 I have an email into the owner of the beautiful winery guest we are staying at in Dundee Oregon. They have those 2 weeks available, just waiting to hear back to give them the money. Actually I think it will work out for the best anyway, I have had serious doubts about the American Empress anyway due to bad reviews that have come about since I booked. The worst thing is...I will probably never see my money refunded...that company is that bad. Will give them 30 days, then hiring a lawyer. Even if the lawyer takes half...I am still that far ahead of zip. 😉

Yeah, I would have loved to have received your heads up. As it is now, I cannot get through to American Queen Voyages online or on the phone. They have a website listed for refunds...but it goes no where when you click on it and times out. Have been trying for 45 minutes now. Have "nasty gram" snail mail" ready to go out tomorrow. May have to hire lawyer. They bullied me to pay in full in the beginning. Should have known. I am probably out that money. 🤬

Thanks. I was a tad bit concerned about their reviews anyway, and not really happy about our cabin with the tiny bathroom. Will follow up. Thank you for your heads up. Will try to simply extend our wine country stay...which will probably be a better fit anyway. As I always say...adjust and move on. 😉

Aww...thanks my friend! Sooo sweet, you really made my day. 🥰 I very much enjoyed taking others with us on our first quarter cruise, and so happy you enjoyed it. My heart goes out to you on your loss. Life is so precious, indeed we need to enjoy every moment of what we have on this earth and the loved ones around us. Hope you enjoy a well deserved and fantabulous cruise when you join the ship as well. 🙂 Sorry we will just miss you.

We get there early, but leave our carry on bags in the vehicle when we park after dropping off our checked bags. We then simply walk over next door to Grills to enjoy a Bloody Mary on the deck while gazing at our home away from home for the week. Once we are ready to get in line to board, the lines have thinned out, we grab our carry on bags and proceed into the terminal with a fresh new relaxation mode on our faces. 😉 -
Perfectly stated. Indeed this is not a normal cruise. WC travelers are not currently doing 200 repeats of the same 3/4 or 7 night Caribbean cruises. The WC is a true adventure, with it being a 100% positive situation that there will be "bumps" in the road....errr...sea (literally too). The true adventurers deal with them as they come and experience the new and different with open eyes and open minds. 🙂 I am looking forward to rejoining in Barcelona. I already miss my friends on board and the wonderful crew.

RCCL announces new addition coming.

For me...Port Canaveral a big yes, though being only 20 miles from home has a lot to do with it 😉 .....but Miami...never. Not even a fan of Ft. Lauderdale. -

Unfortunately after 20 years of being "loyal to Royal" and observing so many cut backs one after the other...we are now booking with other lines. We love the smaller ships, but Royal is putting all the money into the mega ships and letting the smaller ones just rot away. Sooo...to get back the romance of small ship cruising with the perks we love...we are booking mostly with Viking now. I guess my age is showing. 😉 -

At least I know I can drive over to Tampa to board a smaller ship, which is more my style. 🙂 Love going under the Sunshine Skyway bridge anyway.
