  1. Dining packages do not work for the holiday nights. You must pay the full price if you want to dine on Christmas or Christmas Eve for those restaurants that have the special menu.
  2. I'd love to see a ship out of Amsterdam doing a mix of Norway and Baltic cruises
  3. Good news . Large ships will continue to be able to call at all Norway ports until 2032 https://www.forbes.com/sites/davidnikel/2024/08/28/norway-allows-cruise-ships-in-world-heritage-fjords-until-2032/
  4. Many rooms now only hold 3. Make sure thst you go a mock booking for 4 guests and see the same room as you select for 3 otherwise the grandparents are going to have a kid sleeping in their room.
  5. While you can't read the name, the outline of it leads me to think it is Symphony as it looks like one letter is taller than the others which would be the "h" as opposed to Harmony that does not have any tall letters.
  6. Must have been an off day. They were only collecting luggage in one area (left side of the terminal as you looked at it) (it was also the new terminal (shore power) and I think this may have been the first or second week used. Only had to wait about 10 minutes so not that big of a deal, just different.
  7. The only thing that I found odd about Southampton was that you had to queue as soon as you arrived to drop your bags off. After that everything flowed very smoothly.
  8. They were not enforced when we were there last month
  9. PC, FLL and MIA could each hold 3 if you add in the ones they are using for Short cruises
  10. That change was not about the terms and conditions it was about your ability to sue and what country you would be governed under. Those from the UK that book through a North American outlet will still have their booking under US Terms and Conditions and the only way that policy change would go into effect is if they had to sue Royal.
  11. So what is the difference. Use your two free days then get the package for the rest of the cruise and apply the casino discount. Same thing
  12. Set your app to the current sailing for Liberty to see the Dailies
  13. Unfortunately, you did not purchase the insurance you only added it to the reservation and it does not come into effect until after you pay the booking in full. Bets t o call, there is a small chance that you can drop the friend and keep the same room. Alternatively Royal may insist that you move to a double occupancy room that will be priced at todays rates which you will then have to compare to what you paid which may be lower. I would also check with AON (travelcruisecare.com) to see if one person can file a claim under the CFAR portion of the trip or whether it needs to be for the entire booking
  14. No issues at all but no point on getting your wife's balcony discount applied as it will drop off once her name is replaced.
  15. There are absolutely no restrictions on having the same person booked in 2 rooms at the same time. Obviously this needs to be changed prior to sailing but it is not an issue for what the OP is doing although while he vould get the balcony discount it will be taken away once his wife is removed.
  16. Not saying this is right or wrong I am only providing the reason why it is left up to the revenue manager on the ship (not the Captain) Port taxes and fees are a variable amount. They constantly change from the day the itinerary is released up until the day the ship sails. Some are fixed such as a port charging $10 per person while others may be a flat rate for the day so the amount would vary based on the number of passengers on board. Port fees are initially set years in advance and while increase may be factored in the exact amounts of any annual increase may not be known (look at what the Bahamas implements. As time passes Royal adjusts the taxes based on expected occupancy levels of the ship and known changes. They try to get it so at the end of the cruise the passengers have paid exactly what the port taxes and fees finally came in at. Sometimes they have more and sometimes they have actually underestimated. For the same reason that they do not charge you if they have a shortfall they may not refund you if they have an overage. Of the $150 to $200 per person in port fees and taxes the vast majority of that is for your embarkation port and not the actual port stop.
  17. I asked my son as he has his own board and his response was that unless you are 150 lbs or less you will run the risk of bottoming out regardless of the board. So much depends on not only they type of wave but also how fast they have the flow set to. He also mentioned that so much about the boards is personal preference based on your own style and how you ride that what one person likes another won't. Before he bought his he tried a number of other board that riders who brought their own boards on had to help him decide. He now lets others who are serious about getting their own board to do a few runs on his.
  18. Same perks as on any of the Oasis class ships
  19. If your kids are over 10 you definitely do not want to book this
