  1. How does the $100 excursion credit with Have It All work? If I use it to book a $60 excursion would that leave me a balance of $40 to use toward another excursion? Or if I pick an excursion that is over $100 do I just pay the difference? Thank you all
  2. I agree an investigation would need to be done. Just as that would be necessary in any other environment. People tend to take advantage of situations. I could see false accusations being made. But if the a passenger is truly in an unsafe situation I have to believe there is a policy in place to respond to that. If not the legal team might want to put that on the agenda.
  3. If you explained that you felt unsafe I believe your request to move would be accommodated. Evolution of laws and policies that municipalities and private companies have had to adapt to would almost certainly dictate that.
  4. DW and I are booked for a 7 night on Nieuw Statendam this December. Our Itinerary : Port Everglades Sea Day Sea Day Curacao 8am to midnight Aruba 7am to 3pm Sea Day HMC 9am to 3pm Port Everglades What nights will be designated as formal nights? We each have 1 credit through the Have It All package, is that credit good for any of the specialty dinning venues? If we decide to only do specialty dinning once, which night and which restaurant would you recommend? Thank you
  5. DW and I have our first cruise with HAL coming up. We have the Have It All package. Do I wait till I am on board to make purchases for excursions and specialty dinning? And while I'm asking I may need to pair our dinner and excursion reservations with friends who may be booking. One of them wants to book and surprise the other very close to departure date... that may complicate things. Any advise would be appreciated.
  6. Thanks for taking the time to share your review and congrats on graduation.
  7. Glad to hear no staffing issues at NCL. For some reason a theory exists that Carnival's staffing issues are because the US Government is slow to process the necessary paperwork and work visas.
  8. I am in camp carryon. I have a nice spinner that I have learned to pack for a week no problem. But I don't share that bag. Sharing a large suitcase isn't quite the same as 2 ppl sharing a bag that would qualify as a carryon on major us airlines. I much prefer not checking a bag at the airport. I also carry/wheel that spinner on and off the ship myself.
  9. 2 ppl share 1 carryon for a week? That's impressive.
  10. I think the 4K interior rooms on the Spirit class now have floor to ceiling windows instead of French doors. It's still a small view blocked by a lifeboat but no more fresh air.
  11. I think you will like the Spirit class. The Serenity area, it is a large area with its own pool at the back of the ship. No wind, plenty of loungers and places to sit, and a nice big bar. On deck 10 you can walk around the entire open deck and there are a ton of clamshell day beds available if you want to relax and watch the world float by. The spa has separate areas for men and women with saunas, steam rooms, and private showers. This area is under used by passengers. The ship has a nice flow and honestly feels less crowded. Enjoy your cruise
  12. I suspect Carnival used all the empty cabins to make more money. If you paid for an inside and several balconies are available I would sell you the opportunity to move to that balcony. Its a great business move. The upsell makes me money, makes you happy, and as the word spreads of the increase in these upsell offers it generates more interest in bookings as I am trying to resume to pre shut down numbers. I agree in the past when the ships were full upsells or even real upgrades, where it didn't cost to be moved to a better room, were done because the booked cabin was needed.
  13. Upgrade / Upsell offers have been showing up on the My To-do List in your cruise manager when you have a cruise booked. Not everyone gets the offers but they seemed to be more prevalent soon after the restart when the ships were way below capacity.
  14. Not sure but I suspect similar. When you mentioned Carnival stock was up about a buck today I thought it would be helpful to give the bigger picture. I could be wrong but I think Carnival's stock will suffer a bit from these recent events. It might take a few days to start seeing that.
  15. Great questions and I have not seen the answers. It was also reported in the video I attached that passengers who sought medical attention were being charged $. That is crazy. I know I have read here that the MD on board is a private contractor but that is not cool. Causing someone to need medical attention then charging them for it? wow
  16. plus 8% today down 25% for the month and 54% for the year I will keep an eye on it but I can't imagine the news about the Freedom and the Magic will bolster the recent modest gains.
  17. Yup, that would be my first clue not to sign.
  18. At about 7:53 of this video you will see an officer on Magic telling passengers what offer Carnival is making to get them to sign a release. The offer is: Comping this cruise and all sign and sail charges, $1500 cash per cabin, and $2000 FCC. That seems like a lot and I get the impression Carnival is nervous about this one. I would keep an eye on stock prices
  19. Careful, if you pay more and sail with a different cruise line the experience might spoil you.
  20. I'm terribly impatient. That's why I grab a burrito.
  21. I usually grab a breakfast burrito at Blue Iguana. I believe I read on here that bacon can be had in the MDR for breakfast every day though. That's a guess on my part as like I said I'm usually on the lido with a burrito (cool rhyme lol)
