  1. Belize is known for cave tubing. Not a whole lot to see there. We did an excursion that was not the "hike" where you took a bus to a landing and floated in a raft. We've also done a semi submersible and then stopped at a manmade "island" for a two hour-ish. Belize is not somewhere to "walk around" outside the gated area.

Costa Maya, we do an all inclusive Maya Chan. It was a taxi ride by the coast outside of touristy area. We don't drink alcohol at all or do "beach" but we can tear up some diet cokes, cookie smoothies, and their INCREDIBLE guac and taco lunch.

I believe their may be a long bus trip to ruins.

  2. Playa Mia. It has a beach and pools. You can go to there website to look at pricing. We have done it once through Rccl and once on our own. You get to choice which ticket option you want on your own. Get off ASAP, walk through the shopping area and follow signs for taxis. Ask to be taken there. Should be around $15. Walk to the ticket booth and get your tickets/bands. Get set up where you want to be. You should beat ship excursions thete by at least an hour. You can also decide when to head back to the ship. The excursion through the ship leaves WAY early to go back to the ship. When you are ready to head back, go back to where your taxi dropped you, one will usually be there. If not, go to the store and ask for one to be called.

  3. Apparently, someone in your folio's card got scanned for 12 towels that did not have corresponding scans back. Unfortunately, there are people who steal anything. Some passengers would take towels off for a beach excursion and not bring them back. Turns into a pain in the butt for the rest of us.

  4. I would suggest spf rash guards for your kids. It saves a lot of sunscreen and fights with the kids for reapplying. When my daughter was little, I purchased a lightweight, almost full body, one. It was great. It dried quickly and she was protected from the sun and sand. I also swear my the coppertone sport sunscreen. It's lightweight and breathable. I use the spray can and the stick (for ears and face). Knock on wood, she's 12 and never more than a slight pink cheek that lasted about 3 hours.

A tablet with games, music, a couple of movies (with headphones) will keep them occupied during any down time. They also make an earphone splitter so you can plug multiples into the same device btw.

Unless your kids need constant stimulation, I let me daughter bring a stuffed animal/doll to sleep with. She's tired by the end of the day.

I also pack a dollar store pump hand soap for our bathroom. The bar stuff just doesn't work for us. I leave what's left over at the end.

I have also found that giving them a camera of their own helps them stay engaged during excursions.

You might need a night light as well.

A highlighter for the daily Compass.

I make sure any drink cups that we bring onboard have a lid and a handle/lanyard. Easier to keep up with ad trips back to the cabin can be a pain.

  5. Departing Monday for the Majesty and will be driving to port. As I have never sailed from Port Canaveral, I am curious how easy it is to navigate from parking lot to ship. Also, how do I know if there will be any other Royal Caribbean ship departing the same day? Last year, in Tampa, we walked quite a ways from the parking lot, schlepping luggage to what we thought was the Brilliance, but was actually another Royal ship. :o:eek: I don't want to make that mistake again.:)
I've never one PC, but numerous other ports. Always drop your bags with the porters first. Then, schelp to the ship. It serves two purposes. You figure out where your ship is and lighten your load.

We usually only send one to go park the vehicle and leave any carryon bags with the remainder of our party. Easy peasy.

  6. My biggest problem is the weather. Since I’ve never been on a cruise, never been to Cozumel, and it’s in the beginning of December I’m not sure how to dress.
It's still hot there. Check the forecast on weather.com as you get closer. You definitely will not need a coat, if that is what you are thinking.

  7. I will say I end up picking my cruise from the cruiseline website and then shopping various sites and agencies for perks. I have always received something from the TA.

Word of earning, some agencies do not have 24×7 coverage so if you see a price drop, etc, the cruise line will not speak with you and require that your TA contact them. Some times the price drop is gone by the time the TA is opened. I now keep that in mind when shopping TA deals. That was a lesson that I learned.

  8. We were in an interior room on the Jewel. We found our large suitcase did not fit under the bed. It is a newer wheeled 28” and was too wide. We did stand it up in the closet under the hangers which worked for us but there was only 2 of us in the room.

I too was surprised by all the storage, lots of little spaces.

I don’t know if I would put 4 adults in a cabin though....

Did you try opening the bag and sliding it under the bed? We have been able to place our hardside 28" bags under the bed that way.
