  1. Plus, you'll be there with the Rotterdam. Those old people can't move so fast! 😁
  2. Here is the pier leading to the island….. Here are a couple shots of the beach in front of Margaritaville….. Patti zooms into the pool in Margaritaville, and right into our Grand Turk vacation home….. Here are some views of the pier from the bridge wing….. To be continued…..
  3. The Spirit is cleared for passengers to go ashore at 8:45am. We are in no hurry to get off the ship. We figure to spend two to three hours at Jack’s Shack, and with the Sunrise leaving at 2pm, and we leaving at 6:30pm, it will be less crowded this afternoon. We decided to head up to the Lido for a leisurely breakfast. Afterwards, I decided to head over to the Red Frog Rum Bar, and Patti was going to take pictures from on top of the bridge all the way forward on Deck 9…… This is the ship's bell..... Patti’s camera has an amazing zoom so she’s going to have some fun with it. Here’s a view of the island on the right side of the pier….. She zooms out to the conch graveyard….. Here are a couple of views of the beached whale….. Here are a few of the Friendship 7 exhibit….. To be continued…….
  4. if you are prone to getting seasick a midship cabin would be better.
  5. We continue to watch from our balcony as the Spirit eases into her berth….. The dockworkers secure the bowlines….. We are docked at 8:15am. Debarkation resumes on the Sunrise….. To be continued…..
  6. We are approaching the pier. The Carnival Sunrise has been here since 7am. However, their debarkation has stopped, and the pier cleared of all passengers until we are fully docked and tied up…… Here are a few views of the upper decks of the Carnival Sunrise…… The Spirit is slowing gliding into her berth. You can see that the workers have made a lot of progress in the last six days on the pier repair….. To be continued……
  7. As I mentioned earlier, we weren’t supposed to be here until 11am, but since we missed Princess Cay yesterday, Captain Bovo has promised to get us here by 9am. Once we heard that, we checked to see if our pool cabana was available, and it was, but we decided that we would just head down to Jack’s Shack and see how the experience was there with the new owners. Here are a few views as the Spirit sails into Grand Turk….. Here are a couple of views of Jack’s Shack as the first guests from the Carnival Sunrise begin to arrive….. Here are some views of the beach between Jack’s Shack and Margaritaville….. The annoying umbrella and chair vendors that used to be in front of Margaritaville have been moved down the beach…. This is what the Margaritaville beach looks like now….. To be continued…..
  8. Day # 13 – (January 16th) – Grand Turk (9am – 6:30pm). We woke up to a mostly cloudy day, but the forecast is for it to be sunny and warm. The seas are fairly calm as the Spirit makes her way towards Grand Turk. Here is the view from our balcony….. The sun is trying hard to peek through and finally it does…… Way off in the distance you can see the Carnival Sunrise already docked in Grand Turk….. Here are today’s “Fun Times”….. To be continued…..
  9. Thanks for reading! Just click on the "Follow" link at the bottom of the page if you are using a phone, or the top of the page if using a tablet or desktop.
  10. Okay, here is some firsthand information on Soul Play. Soul Play is only open when there are classes. There were classes almost every day during our cruise, including embarkation day. The only day there were no classes was when we had our long port day in Bonaire. On sea days there were two classes held. You sign up for the classes on the hub app. They have room for twenty-four (24) in each class. Patti was able to sign up for a class that was added when our day at Princess Cay was turned into a sea day. Afterwards, when she tried to sign up for additional classes, they had all been booked up, so sign up for these as soon as you board! Patti was not charged for the class that she took, but some classes may incur a charge. These classes are posted in the daily "Fun Times", listed as Creativity at Sea or Soul Play Studio. I think that covers it.
  11. You have to get right. It's "This is Todd your cruise director, that's T-O double D on the M-I-C". Annoying as hell! 😁
  12. I would go with the Celebration even though we love the Havana area on the Vista Class ships. More days always wins out with us. 😎
  13. Yes, they do the Sea Day Brunch. On port days they have lunch in the MDR. The day I just finished reviewing was supposed to be a Princess Cay day. 😎
  14. Hey Jeff, sorry to hear about all your trial and tribulations. Hang in there, and try to enjoy what you can. Positive thoughts and prayers heading your way! 😎
  15. I believe that Soul Play is adult oriented, but I'll ask Patti about that later. At Alchemy there is no waiter service, so if you are sitting in the outer seats you have to belly up to the bar. 😎
  16. Out of all the times we have been there I think I've only seen the top once! 😎
  17. There's no charge for Soul Play, but you need to sign up in advance on the app. Spots for the cruise go quickly, so check for classes at the beginning of the cruise by looking at each days activities. I have no idea which ships offer this, as this was the first time Patti had seen this.😎
  18. I went to the Skybox Sports Bar to watch the end of the Giants / Vikings game….. Patti walked around taking some more pictures. Here she passes the Alchemy Bar where Danilo is playing guitar tunes…… Patti heads up to an empty La Playa Grille to grab an ice cream to take back to the cabin….. She takes this last shot looking down the Spirit Atrium, and then calls it a night….. After celebrating the Giants win, I made my way to the Comedy Show starring Mark Hawkins. He was great as always. Afterwards, I went to the Alchemy Bar where Giovanni made me a couple of Pain Reliefs to help get me ready for bed. Here is tonight’s towel animal….. Coming up next: Back at Grand Turk and hanging out at Jack’s.
  19. While we were enjoying our dessert at Bonsai Sushi, the Captain’s Toast was beginning in the Spirit Lobby. Our Cruise Director Todd was the host….. The Senior Officers lined the stairways…… On the balcony, Captain Ettore Bovo is in the center, with Hotel Director Lars Juel on the left, and Chief Engineer Antonio Bottaro on the right….. Captain Bovo proposes his toast….. The toast being over, the Hot Shots start their set in the Spirit Lobby….. We decide that this is a good time to pick up our $25 free play in the casino. On the way there we passed the Fun Hub, which is between the Spirit Lobby and the casino….. To be continued……
  20. Here are Patti and I at Bonsai Sushi….. We both started with the Miso soup….. Next, Patti had a side salad, and I had the Kakuni….. For our mains, Patti had the California rolls without wasabi, and I had the Bento box….. For dessert, we both had the green tea cupcakes….. This is our server, Aileen. She is such a sweetheart! To be continued…..
