Here are today’s Fun Times….. We have no specific plans today, except to try and stay out of the sun, so we’ll get off after the initial rush. I’m not hungry, but I’ll make my usual stop at the Java Blue Café for my morning coffee, and then back to the cabin to work on pictures. Patti is hungry, so she heads up to the Lido Marketplace for some breakfast. Here are some views from our balcony….. Looking across the Great Bay….. To be continued…..

Day # 17 - 10/09/23 - Phillipsurg, St.Maarten (9am – 6pm). We were up at 7am to another sunny and very warm day. The seas were very calm as we approached Phillipsburg, St. Maarten….. The Pilot has arrived….. A short time later Captain Enzo guides the Venezia to her berth…… We have arrived in St. Maarten, a full hour early! To be continued……

Remember back when I said Patti requested to Edy that we wanted three sets of towels? Well, since that was so difficult for him to remember that, Patti started disassembling the towel animals for the extra towels. She had a whole pile of towels in the closet by the end of the cruise! 😁

A short time later we were treated to a beautiful sunset….. We weren’t hungry for a full dinner tonight. Patti was going to go to the Lido Marketplace for a salad and a piece of cake, and then back to the cabin for the night. I went to the (PG) Comedy Show starring Vanessa Hollingshead, which tonight was in the Teatro Rosso….. Comedy Club Host Mathew (with one “T”) gets it going….. Vanessa Hollingshead on stage…… She was a train wreck. People were walking out. Being involved with theater, that’s something I would never do, but I don’t blame the ones that did. I gave her a 3 out of 10. After that performance I made my way to the Lobby Bar for several double Bacardi and Pepsi’s with Valentina, before calling it a night. Coming up next: Our day in St. Maarten!

Captain Enzo spins the Venezia around to point her out to sea….. As we sail out we get one last glimpse of the Pitons in the distance…… To be continued……

After about an hour, Patti makes her way back to the ship….. After she boards she passes the Medical Center….. Back at the cabin she finds today’s towel animal….. Patti made her way up to the Lido Marketplace for some lunch. We both met back at the cabin where we relaxed until sail away. The Venezia sailed right at 4pm….. To be continued…..

We sail past the Carnival Venezia…… We are back at the excursion pier. Thanks Captain! I went back to the ship and went up to Guy’s Burger for a Ringer. I took it over to RoCoco and had a couple of Thirsty Frog Wheat’s to wash it down. Patti stayed out to explore the Pointe Seraphine shopping area….. To be continued……

We continue to sail past Sandals….. We are now sailing back into Castries harbor….. To be continued……

We sail past what appears to be a good snorkeling spot. A Sandals excursion boat is anchored there….. We are sailing past Sandals again, but this time much closer to shore….. To be continued……

The Captain turns us around and we are now heading out of Marigot Bay….. We sail past St. Lucia’s oil and gas reserves….. To be continued…..

The Captain turns the catamaran into Marigot Bay. This is a beautiful bay, lined with beaches, hotels, and restaurants. It also provides moorings for the larger pleasure boats, sailboats, catamarans, and yachts….. To be continued……

When I last left you, our catamaran had just finished visiting the Pitons, and we are now sailing north along the west coast of St. Lucia back towards Castries. Here are some views as we hugged the coastline….. To be continued…..
