  1. tgetz you were not just dreaming about the "moving drawers" situation.  At some time a couple or few years ago several people on this board reported that happening.  Perhaps it pertained only on the smaller ships but I seem to remember it was done that way on the Vista's too but apparently that practice has stopped. 😞

  2. The thread you are speaking of was earlier this week.  There is a posting on it by AtlantaCruiser72  that says -

"HAL has recently allowed pre-payment of tips, but have not made it widely known - I only discovered it by accident one day!!!  Travel agents can go into the POLAR booking system and add under gifts and services, but payment via CC MUST be applied at the time they are added.  I would assume HAL agents can do the same"

    Hope this helps.

Yea I opened this can of worms before, the cabins are considered adjoining and keys will work for both. No I don't want quadruple laundry I might want double laundry on the first sea day only, Or just do single laundry the first 4 or 5 days.

While I'm not going to lecture about what HAL does or does not allow I am confused about this "adjoining" issue.  In your original posting that caused all sorts of discussion about non-Neptune passengers using Neptune benefits you specifically said, and I quote (bolding mine),  "So she came back the next day with an offer on an SB and the L right across the hall but not adjoining. The SB is an Aft wrap-around balcony on Deck 6."   Something here just isn't right. 🤔 Having a duplicate set of room key cards made so that you or your brother can access the inside L stateroom does not make them connecting.  Additionally lets get real, the only thing that connects an SB to an L are two doors with an open passenger hallway between.   If your experienced learned TA really told your that she must have been smoking something real strange that day.

  4. I'll have to start using the "leave a message page" from now on.  My current way of saying Thank You to both the great folks that do the laundry but also those that deal with the Breakfast Room Service cards is to write a very brief note on those forms thanking them, wishing them a wonderful day and including a 😊.

  5. I believe the reference to "only get one bag" is that normally there is only "one" bag in your stateroom that gets replaced every time laundry is returned.  If you want to send out more laundry than will fit in "one" bag on any given day just ask your room steward for another.  "Unlimited" means just that, you can send as much as you want everyday if you want.

Do travel agents have a different way in which they can see all the available cabins in a category instead of just the 10 show on the HAL website?

I don't believe so as there have been a couple of time where my TA actually had to call to get us the stateroom we wanted.  But since that was several years ago maybe HAL's  "new"  system has changed that.

I liked the old method where you could type in a cabin number that you were interested in and see if it is available.

KK you still can do that.  You have to plow through several screens to get there but it is still possible.

Good News. Holland America allowed us to pay the difference between a 12 day cruise and a 14 day cruise, so we are off to South Americain December just as we hoped.

WONDERFUL!!  Just goes to show that it never hurts to ask.

Not if you have a corner aft NS. The shower was smaller than a standard phone booth. I don't know what cabin grade catl331's photo posted above is, but it looks to be about double the size we had in the NS. Maybe NS afts on other decks are better, but the deck 7 aft NS showers are a joke. And no shower over the tub, so we were stuck with that tiny space.

cat's picture is identical to the bathroom(s) we have had on the Koningsdam.  In fact we were on deck 7 for our last two cruises, regular veranda stateroom,  and will there again in the spring.  Bathroom overall is no smaller from other standard HAL or Princess ships.  Sorry your NS came with something smaller.

    Love, just love the shower!

  9. I've been attempting for 2 days to "Submit Reply" on a thread with no luck.  When I click the Submit Reply button it momentarily goes gray but then nothing happens and my reply is still just sitting there unposted.  If it makes any different this is happening on a thread where I was the originally OP.

Note - just tried to Reply on this and had no success.

  10. Next spring good friend & husband are going along with me & hubby on 10 day out of FLL.  At the end of that cruise we are throwing hubbbies off the ship and she and I will then do the 11 day cruise and each of us will be staying in our original staterooms.  How will HAL handle our Cruise Cards for the second portion of our cruise?  Can we get off the ship with husbands to make certain they get their proper luggage and out of the cruise terminal?  They are accustomed to us gals handling those kind of details and may need a bit of direction.  If HAL will permit us to get off the ship to see them off can we then immediately get back on the ship or must we wait until "regular" boarding time for the 11 day cruise?  We do know that at some point later we will have to get back off so HAL can 0 count the ship but since husbands will be doing early departure it would be nice to be allowed back on the ship until that time.  Thanks, any help would be appreciated for our planning purposes.

Thank you, too, for mentioning your book club book, Something in the Water.  I just finished it.  It's a real page turner but the lead character's constant bad decisions were unreal.

Agree 100% about the book, anyone out there who reads need to read this one.

Unless things have changed recently, and things do change constantly, bookings on board include the returning guest (ZPM/ZPN) credit so in fact the credits are "doubled".

Also unless things have changed, any booking on board gets automatically assigned to the TA who is responsible for the cruise you are currently on - no choice in the matter. It would then be up to the TA to allow a transfer back to HAL, or not (most likely).

100% agree with the first part of this answer, while it was not always that way it has been for at least the past 2 years.  With respect to the transfer to the "TA  who is responsible for the cruise you are currently on" we have always been asked by the FCC when booking on board if we want it transferred to our current TA.  Now we always do that booking in person rather than filling out paper work and dropping it off so perhaps the "do it yourself" method doesn't allow that option.  Just know that on all our HAL cruises we have made booking for the following year and always had the option.

I'm glad I'm in good company. I've had all the problems mentioned. Sigh.

Me too.  Ruth's problem with the back tab along with attempting to return via any means to your previous page is very very very annoying since the only fix I've been able to do is just close out and reenter CC.  Couple that with having to reinput my sign in data each time make my usage of this site very limited at this time.

Prior to this latest re-sign problem when bringing up CC it would bring up the original forum page without picking up your user-id and then immediately flash blank and then redisplay it with you signed in.  POA described this in much more elegant terms than I. :classic_ohmy:  Guessing this current problem is a result of someone "fix" to that problem.  YEA, sure it worked!!

I'm getting the feeling that the same tech "professionals" that worked on HAL's newest debacle have also had a hand in CC newest web design and implementation.
