The Mercury was the first X ship my daughter and I sailed on. We remember
it clearly. We sailed from Baltimore, MD. The day before the sailing it was
in the 80's. The day of the sailing it was in the 40's. Everyone was bundled
up in coats, hats and gloves for the sail away party on the top decks.
We had a wonderful time.

Has anyone received any kind of deals or help in scheduling a different cruise if you don't want to go to Cuba? Is NCL reimbursing the costs incurred for deposit, air fare, hotels, etc. if you decide to cancel?
Final payment for the May cruises are not due for standard cabin until late February. The suites I am sure are due earlier.
Depending on how you booked your hotel, most will allow cancellation up till
24 hours prior to check in.
I am sure NCL will not reimburse for air or hotel.
If you purchased insurance check policy to see if it covers change of itinerary.

We just looked at a NCL cruise to Havana and the Coco Cay Bahamas. They state that you must book excursions that meet the requirements for your stay in Cuba, such as educational seminars, etc. but don't really give details on what they are,how long they are or how much they cost. Does anyone know the details?
When the shore excursions post for Cuba, they should meet the requirements
for the people to people exchanges.

The Cuba booked sailings on the Sky are still considered All Inclusive and
will have the free open bar.

Disregard...Just booked and confirmed the May 15th trip.
The May 8 cabin locations I wanted are already gone. Great pricing - I'm saving a lot of money over RCI.
Congratulations. Plus the NCL is a overnight.
-
I had received a email from my NCL PCC. I called him directly and he was
able to book it.
Still doesn't like not open for bookings on their web site.
If anyone is interested I would suggest try calling NCL.

Just booked myself and daughter for the 5/8 sailing for Cuba.
Cuba has been on my daughters bucket list for a couple of years.
Can't wait for the shore excursions to post.

So will the 4 day cruises be the Cuba ones?
Yes for the following dates
May 1, 8, 15, 22, 29

Sure, this is the itinerary they send us:
Miami - depart 5pm
Havana - arrive 8am
Havana - overnight
Havana - depart 2pm
Great Stirrup Cay - arrive 9am - depart 5pm
Maimi - arrive 7am
Hope this helps!
Thank you. My daughter and I are planning to book for the May 8th sailing as soon as they open the bookings on Dec 20th. I have already booked our
flight. Southwest had a great price at $64 for Sunday 5/7. Hotel also booked.
Now just waiting on NCL.

We're due to sail out on May 29th and received an email today stating that our itinerary had changed from Miami-Freeport-Nassau-Great Stirrup Cay-Miami to Miami-Havana-Havana-Great Stirrup Cay-Miami.
Does anyone know how the overnight in Havana works? Do you go back to the ship and sleep there?
And would anyone happen to know anything about the tours they are going to offer there? The website hasn't been updated yet with information on this.
On your new itinerary can you please tell me what time you disembark from
Havana on day 2.
Thank you

Thanks everyone for your replies. We will call Dine as soon as we board to
make a reservation. We will be looking forward to attending the dinner again

Will be on the Regal end of October. Did the Wine Makers Dinner on the Royal
2 years ago. It was fantastic. Does any one know if it offered on the Regal.

I would love to have a ship in Bayonne all year. I would never sail Breakaway
again unless it was in a Haven suite. Breakaway can't handle the crowds and
I hated needing to make reservations in advance of sailing for shows and dinner.
Plus the cost of parking in Manhattan.
Sailed Summit from Bayonne so much nicer.

We were in Costa Maya in April and I would not hesitate to return to the free beach and pool right at the terminal. No charge for
loungers or chairs.
It was a short walk and there also was a shuttle. Shops, restuarants, entertainment. Plenty of shade if needed. The place was spotless and no vendors pushing goods.

I have cruised both ships and I would pick Summit. The Summit has also
just come out of dry dock with a number of upgrades.
I like the fact that they have a enclosed pool in the event of bad weather.
We had the standard beverage package and never felt a need to upgrade.
Food and Service was excellent.
Looking to book Summit to Bermuda next year.

We had a small get together in our suite. The butler provided crackers and cheese, shrimp and a crab dip, etc.
We provided the wine from the bottles we brought on board.

My daughter and I have stayed in the SG on the Star and am booked
again in this same suite for our 4/10 cruise. This time my second daughter
will be joining us and using the sleep sofa. We did not use the sleep sofa
on the past cruise, so not sure if it would fit two young girls.
The balcony had 3 chairs and a table.
As stated it doesn't have a table and chairs in the suite. I did miss that, but
the balcony made up for that.
I loved the SG and that's why I booked it again.

The bedroom has a king bed which doesn't split.
The couch in the living room the back fold down. It's not large.
My adult daughter used the couch and it was fine for one.
It may be fine for two small children, but not 2 adults.
We stayed in 12701 on the Breakaway and there was no pull down bed.

You will not regret switching to the H7 Forward Penthouse. I have stayed
in 12701 on the Breakaway and loved it. Separate living and dining room.
The sofa opens to a bed.
Private bedroom with king bed and TV. Front windows. Lots of drawers
and 3 closets. The bath was fabulous. My daughter loved the tub.
The balcony is small two chairs and table but was plenty of room for
both my daughter and I.
We always took the stairs up to the Haven Courtyard. We had excellent
service and never missed not being right in the Haven.
I would not hesitate to book this room again.
-
I would rather cruise more.
I have gone from suite back to balcony and have had just as great a time.
I am very low keyed and really don't need a butler. I make my own
reservations.
If you watch the promotions you can still get perks.
-
I believe the rooms are the same.
The Haven Courtyard on the Getaway doesn't have a retractable roof.
This could make a big difference depending on weather conditions.
-
I have stayed in the forward penthouse suite 12106 on the Breakaway and loved it. There is so much room. Loved having a living and dining room.
The private bedroom is a big plus. There was a ton of drawer space and
3 closets in the bedroom. The bath was fabulous. My daughter loved the
tub. The balcony is small, 2 chairs and a table, but had more then
enough space for my daughter and myself.
I did not mind not being in the Haven courtyard. We just took the stairs up
to the courtyard. Still received the same excellent service.
I would not hesitate to book this room again.
-
I know on the Breakaway that the king beds do not separate. Does the
Haven spa have a sleep sofa?
I have stayed in the forward penthouse suites on the Breakaway and loved
the space. Separate living room, bedroom and bath.
You will love Bermuda. I have been there several times and would not hesitate to go back.
