  1. And tbh I think while the ships are sailing full nothing will change for the better. Thank you @Dolebludger for posting your Regent experience. We May like it, we may not but X has pushed us into trying elsewhere. We will be trying Oceania and MSC YC at some point in 2025/6. Dh isn’t a great fan of cruising so we do a few on the trot then have a break for a few years til l I can persuade him again 😁
  2. We’ve just got back from Cyprus but were staying in our house. Gorgeous weather so imagine Turkey is similar.
  3. And that in essence is why we book suites at times. Our cruise in June next year I’ve changed from a CS to a SV. Too much ££ and not a lot in return at the moment. We will do speciality dining. With the change of cabin I had extra so booked a concierge cabin on Regent.
  4. Ahh thank you. I know I’m my own worst enemy. I use a walking stick and have done for 20+ years so it’s probably pretty obvious when you see me. At least as I’m approaching 60 years old people aren’t so surprised as they were when I was in my 30’s :))
  5. What a shame can’t recommend TAs on here! That’s a good saving. Just booked my first Regent cruise so just reading around the posts:))
  6. For us it’s the fact that it finishes at 10am. I’m not keen on OV for breakfast and Luminae finishes at 9am. On a sea day 😬😁
  7. For me my favourite thing on Apex in a CS last year (med cruise) was coming back to a tray of fruit. I’m limited mobility and after a day out to go to the lounge to get a drink or a bit to eat is sometimes too exhausting. I’ll probably do what I did on Silhouette in May (Aqua) and either stop off at cafe al bacio or go straight back to my room depending on how I am. It’s fine but it’s not what I paid for at the time of booking. And I’ll be making it known on the survey. And it’s why my booking I just made is on Regent.
  8. It’s this cruise - I have to say I’m very pleased with the price. https://www.rssc.com/cruises/SPL241024/summary?source=CruiseSearch&r=EURMD&m=2024-10&sh=SPL I also have a suite guarantee for my upcoming Beyond so I’m not going to be too disappointed with the lack of butler as I paid just under £7800 for 10 nights which at current X prices isn’t too bad.
  9. We’ve also booked a Regent cruise for next year. Went for a concierge suite so no butler. Looking forward to trying it.
  10. On E class the only option for a real balcony is an SV (hen’s teeth) or a suite.
  11. Zach was fairly damming of his retreat experience. I wonder whether Celebrity are taking note. If not, they should be.
  12. For the two of us. I thought it was too good a price to miss! £3225pp for 7 nights. A discount as well from agent so was £6272.
  13. At the end of the day loyalty is a two way street. We have 2 upcoming X cruises. One in a suite, one in a SV. Last week I booked a third. With Regent. If we like it great. If not will look around again. It also was a good price. Just over £6000 (7 nights) for a concierge cabin so includes flights and pre night stay as well as drinks and excursions.
  14. Our upcoming Beyond cruise is almost sold out. Imo I don’t think Celebrity will be changing any of their policies anytime soon if ships are sailing full, unless the cruise surveys are scathing then it may give them pause to reflect. Personally I don’t see that happening unless ships are regularly not selling.
  15. We are in a MC suite on our upcoming cruise. Which was your cabin out of interest? I’m hoping if an issue X will deal with it promptly.
  16. I don’t eat mash. So good for me as more excuse for dessert!
  17. Thank you for providing the list. I’m an old world wine person but don’t drink Pinot Grigio of old world wines. There are a few there that I could cope with so all good. Apart from from Prime 7, as all Californian, would I be able to ask for an alternative or is that not possible?
  18. Yes I know sometimes being organised can be a drawback! Goes back to my law years. Never ever be late when attending court! But you are right best laid plans can sometimes thrown in an adventure or two :))) And you so have to be organised with Disney! Thank you @kjbacon - it’s from when my friends and I used to ask if it was 5o clock (pm) yet as it was wine time:))
  19. I like to be organised. All my excursions diy or ships (if I have OBC) are booked as soon as possible to ensure I get the excursions I want. If we’ve already been somewhere then we will do an alternative to the main attractions.
  20. Looking to book Regent next year. If I’ve already paid for inclusive shore excursions (it’s in the fare) I would hope to get them so good to know about waitlists and turning up to the theatre however stressful that sounds!
  21. We are about to book on Regent Splendour for our cruise next October. It’s a 7 night to test the water so to speak. Also as it’s 7 nights I don’t think they will have a formal night.
  22. Thank you so much your posts have helped me to decide that Regent will definitely be our next cruise booking. Due to dates it will most likely be on The Splendour rather than Mariner but I’ve enjoyed the journey with you.
  23. We’ve switched our June cruise next year to an SV from a CS so I hope we get the loungers. But who knows with X. They say a weeks a long time in politics. That saying could easily be used for X currently.
