  1. Thank you cruisemom42. I am still working out the logistics of flights. That will determine if we are headed to the airport or a hotel. With 6 ships in port, and luggage, I just want to make it easiest.
  2. I would agree. We’ve been to Barcelona several times and will be there next year. Drop your bags at your hotel from a cab directly from airport. Their HoHo works well if you do not know the city and it will give you a good overview of the layout. I don’t sleep on overnights either, but I have to push myself first day to adjust my body clock. Barcelona is a beautiful city to wander, find a place to enjoy lovely food and drink, people watch, see all the sights.
  3. It was an easy way to get into the city from the port for us as well. There is a little bit of a walk to the lift on flat ground though, as an FYI. Enjoy. Such a wonderful port to visit. So much to see and do, that we are looking forward to returning. And as mentioned, be on deck early for the sail in. Spectacular
  4. Slightly different twist. We are hoping to fly home the day we disembark (if not we will use this info to overnight in Rome and explore that magnificent city again). What is the easiest way to get to the airport from the ship?
  5. Any idea what the cost would be for them to grab a cab? In either direction.
  6. That is great to know! So much better than having to take the bus as we did, as ours was not a port stop. Even with the bus, I would take that over the outlier ports other lines are docking at for Venice.
  7. Thank you for this update. Seems like it makes sense to wait until closer to departure to pre-test, if need be, the bubbles of the day! Enjoy your cruise and thank you for taking the time n
  8. I believe that you will not have to go through the old cruise terminal as we had to. They will likely take you to Piazzale Roma, where you can walk, take a public water shuttle, or private water taxi. You cannot drive any further into Venice from that point. Bus time to the old cruise terminal was 30 min. I have heard that to the bus terminal it is a bit less than that. Mayne someone who has had this as a port day rather than embarkation/departure location can confirm, but I do believe this is likely accurate. Maybe go to ports of call section on CC and ask as the rules of engagement for Fusina are not cruise line controlled, but Port Authority controlled. Have a great time!
  9. Absolutely agree with you in that statement. As I was told by a nurse during ‘those days’. Not everyone who is sick or showing symptoms has Covid. But common courtesy, at best, is to cover your mouth when you cough. I just don’t get people who do not engage in that simple politeness.
  10. Thank you. It looks like a fantastic itinerary.
  11. Looks like some great ports. What itinerary is this?
  12. Well this is good to know. I would love it, but DH isn’t very interested in cooking classes. I will look closer at the menus and see if any peak his interest.
  13. We docked in Fusina for a “Venice” RT in May/June
  14. It was Montaudon on our Quest voyage May/June.
  15. Yup. That is the pat answer. But still, cover your damned mouth!
  16. We enjoy several sparkling wines from NorCa. We are fortunate to have a number of very excellent local options. I agree with you on Shramsberg being a very good bubbles! I read an article that stated Oceania served Montaudon, (which is to our liking). I was disappointed I guess, that the updated Champagne Germain is the replacement after pricing it at $20 on my initial search. It’s good to know this ahead. I will pick up a bottle and give it a try! We usually bring some bottles on board with us when the embarkation city makes sense. Barcelona is one that we have done that with in the past. We generally bring reds on board, but we could always switch it up and look for bubbles to include as well. Thanks again for the information.
  17. Wow. Not quite what I had hoped for. Thanks for letting me know. Are any others available with the Prestige package?
  18. Right? It was a brilliant choice! Not. And galeforce9 yes, the two women were both in environments where napkins were readily available to cover their mouths. Just didn’t happen. Can’t control selfishness.
  19. Ours disappeared as well shortly after our itinerary began. We suspected the same thing, but since I did not get sick until I returned I don’t feel I caught it from her
  20. We ended up getting a cab to Mdina and back. It was not an issue as there was a specific area for cabs in both locations near the busses.
  21. On Quest in May/June we found ourselves in the Observations Bar towards the end of the cruise. It became very crowded with the beautiful Kotor sail away. We were there early and ordered caviar. Pretty soon a group comes in and sits behind us. One woman was coughing her head off without bothering to cover her mouth. Nonstop coughing. About that time our caviar showed up. It was a dilemma we hadn’t found ourselves in as we were extremely, maybe overly during that first year, cautious during Covid, vaccines, boosters, masks, etc. We opted to enjoy our caviar then leave. The next morning we were having breakfast outside and a second woman was coughing like crazy without bothering to use her napkin to cover her mouth. We finished our breakfast instead of getting up and leaving. Bad decisions. Towards the end of the flight home I started feeling a little off. By the next day I was sick and tested positive. First time getting it. I isolated for 10 days and until I cleared testing twice. It was a lesson learned. There are people who are all about themselves in every walk of life, but when in a confined or crowded area, and selfish clearly sick people arrive, then just get up and leave. Caviar or not!
  22. That makes more sense. I just looked again and they are all 4-6. I doubt they will be adding any.
  23. Thank you. Great info. So far only 4-6p time slots, but I will keep checking.
  24. Please bear with me on this - first Oceania cruise - I noticed after reading this that there are a few cooking classes offered on our itinerary. We have experienced these on a few different lines and they all seem a bit different. Those I noticed on ours were the 4p-6pm timeframe. Since this bumps up against dinner, are these hands on or demonstration classes, and do the participants enjoy the food prepared during the class? This is something I might enjoy, but DH not so much so. On other lines it was midday during sea days. So at this time, it could impact dinner reservations. Thanks much
