  1. You didn't mention the ages of the children. Will they need carseats? If so rental might be a benefit.

You can go to Uber and Lyft and then just use there fare estimators to figure out the cost of the trip. On Uber it is towards the top of the site and on Lyft it is towards the bottom of the website. I believe you can also get an estimate on the apps.

The advantage of the rental SUV is that you would know for sure you have it reserved and the size you want for your family. You can see what the pricing is at that time. Downside would be more time to pick up and drop it off on each end.

Thanks. The kids are 12, 10, 8 and just barely 2.I will look at the estimators and then do some math. I appreciate the help.

  2. We are trying to work out our logistics in getting about. First, we are 2 adults and 4 children traveling. We are going from Los Angeles airport to Disney Land (nearby hotel) for two days. Then on to the port in Long Beach. We plan on using the public transportation to-and-from the hotel to the park.Once the 4 day cruise is done, we are back to the same hotel for a day at Universal Studios. So, I would like to post two questions. Should we go ahead and rent a large SUV and then rent one again on our return; rather, than paying or two separate uber/lyft cars for the coming and goings involved? Which is the most cost effective? I am just trying to figure out which is best for all of us for convenience and cost. Thanks to all!

  3. The following information arrived yesterday from Bank of America, concerning changes coming on 9/28/17.

3-4 day Bahamas cruise current redemption points value for the following items will be increasing: Inside Category: increased from 60,000 points to 80,000 points. Ocean view Category: increased from 70,000 points to 90,000 points-Balcony Category: increased 3rd to 8th Additional Guests: increased from 25,500 points to 35,000. Just an FYI

  4. I am very new to the NCL card. Currently, I have 25K points. I suspect I will have at least 30k by the end of the year. Can someone give me a brief tutorial on how to make the best of my points? I have a bank of America MC. Also, I have two prepaid NCL deposits when I got the card. I don't mind waiting this out until late 2018, before I use anything.I am sure I will have quite a few more points by then. I hate to go back 212 pages of this thread, to figure this out, when so many of you are experts. I imagine it is probably 100K or more for a free cruise. Any and all suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance.

  5. We will be taking a four day cruise in March. First time, for our son, wife and their children. We are hitting Disney Land, and then the cruise. I am unable to find a lot of suggestions on this board. We have children 2 years to 12 years old. I have been on other sites that have some recommendations. We are looking for fun things to do in the port. Disney is going to suck the coin from my purse, so any money saving suggestions would be nice. Actually, all suggestions would be appreciated. :)

  6. We just got off the Jewel yesterday (April 3rd). There were quite a few good movies available. I cannot say what was showing in the theatre; however, what I can remember are the following: Fantastic Beasts and where to find them, Captain America Civil War, LaLa Land, Allied and The Accountant. I hope this helps.

  7. We just returned from the Grand Princess and we went to the Marriott. It was wonderful. 550 pesos per person but you get 450 peso credit per person for food and drinks. We had lunch, 4 beers, one Pina Colada and one glass of wine and still had 170 pesos to spend. Beers are 55 peso so we could have had three more beers but didn't. It is a great deal, the resort is beautful and it has a private beach, wonderful pool area and you can use the whole resort. I highly recommend it.

Could you tell me the name of the Marriott? Thanks.

  8. Rhythm of the Night in PV, the most awesome experience ever! It's Las Caletas for dinner and a show. Fantastic!

In Cabo, Whale watching on the Zodiacs if you there during season. Also the Glass Bottom boats that your the Arches is great. Should be able to that for ten bucks each then take a pedicab around town, beats walking. We did a self guided taco tour this way, great fun.

We rarely book an excursion through the cruise line; however, we did book Rhythm of the Night. It was one of the best shows, I have ever witnessed. Well worth the money. We are on a cruise this port again in March. Sadly, we are not in port long enough to go a second time. A wonder to behold, and the food was good!
