  1. Thanks to everyone who took time to reply. I think we are going to book the March 7th cruise as the second of the back to backs, and hope for the best. Thanks again.
  2. Thank you. However, the 12 day cruise is the one in the middle of the 8 day cruises. The first 8 day cruise is out because of Presidents' Day week. What I am wondering is if the March 7 eight night cruise will be during spring break.
  3. Not having any children (or grandchildren), I need advice from those who do. I am looking at booking back to back cruises on the Escape during her brief residency in New York next winter. We definitely are considering the 12-night Caribbean cruise that departs on Sunday, February 23, and returns Friday, March 7. The cruise right before it is an 8-night Florida/Bahamas voyage that departs on Saturday, February 15. Since Monday, February 17 is Presidents' Day and most/all schools will be closed that week, that eliminates that cruise. The cruise right after the 12-day is the same Florida/Bahamas route and this one leaves Friday, March 7 and returns Saturday, March 15. So what I need advice on is whether this March 7 cruise would be during spring break, or is it a little too early for that. I know spring break can be at different times in different parts of the country, but I would like your thoughts anyway. And for what it is worth, Passover and Easter are very late next year - Saturday, April 12 (at sundown) for Passover and Sunday, April 20 for Easter. Thanks in advance for any information you can provide.
  4. So sorry to hear how your vacation has started. I am not familiar with the Miami port and how early you can arrive. Perhaps someone else can address that. I will say that no port seems to be checking checkin times any more. So don’t worry about that. Good luck.
  5. Goran is like Mario in that he is quiet with a dry sense of humor. We actually did not see him very often. I remember him being at the “how to run a floating hotel” presentation, the technical Q&A with the Captain and chief engineer, and at the “You Are Norwegian Now” farewell.
  6. Correct. After I posted that comment, Goran happened to mention that Mario had extended his vacation and would be back April 19.
  7. One additional change to the Getaway officers today in St. Thomas. Beverage Manager Eleanore went home on vacation and Dindo Ramos, who had been on the Jade, walked down the pier and boarded the Getaway to take over as Beverage Manager.
  8. Thanks for posting this. I remember Jeffrey when he was a cruise staff member on the Breakaway. Great to see he has made it all the way to CD.
  9. Just a couple of changes for the 2/6 sailing. Mario Markovic went home on vacation and will be back on April 7. Goran Rorbek steps up as GM. Davor Pikic is back from vacation as F&B Director.
  10. You know, the Captain made several references to no longer having Luigi and Mario onboard. But not having children and not being young any more, I had no idea what he was referring to. Thanks for clearing that up. We are also on the 2/6 sailing. I will post the officer updates soon. Mario will be back on 4/7, he said. We said farewell to him yesterday.

  12. Thanks for posting this. We board on the 27th for back to back Caribbean cruises so, even though you are (hopefully) going to Bermuda, any information you can provide will be appreciated. Bon voyage.
  13. The MSC Meraviglia is docking at Heritage Wharf in the Dockyard right now at 1PM Bermuda time. So they made it, albeit a bit late.
  14. If possible, could you post a picture of the card they gave you at the Meet and Greet with the names of the Hotel Department officers? Thanks.
  15. I know Jake’s last name is Laflin, because we just finished 2 cruises on the Joy with him. (By the way, he may be the best CD we have ever had.) What is Jack’s last name?
  16. My understanding is that he is no longer with the company. Was one of the best.
  17. If they gave you a card at the Meet and Greet with the names of the officers on it, would you be able to post a picture of it? Thanks.
  18. Thank you. As I said, I look forward to reading your reports. And if you can get a picture or 2 of the screen that shows the senior officers, that would be great. It is on deck 6 forward, just to the left of the staircase.
  19. We were on the Joy for B2B2B beginning 9/25 and the dinner with the officers was not held on any of them. Neither was the VIP party in the Haven. The Q&A with the Captain and Chief Engineer was held on the first 2 cruises, but neither of them hung around afterwards to schmooze, as they often do. The CN team and the GMs secretary said the changes were due to “precautionary” reasons. Both used that same word. My wife and I had sailed with Captain Hakan so many times that we got together with him for about an hour in the Haven’s Horizon Lounge. When I asked him point blank if all these changes were due to Covid, he said no, it was actually the flu that was running through the crew. We first sailed with him on the new Breakaway in September 2013, so I don’t think he would lie to us. ie say it was the flu when it was really Covid.
