My last cruise was my cheapest. 1 week before spring break, single no supplement NCL 7 days inside 399. I was so happy. :)

Tooth brushes and asprinJust thought it would be fun to ask what thing or things you may have forgotten to pack for your cruise? One time I had decided to keep all hubbys shirts hanging in our bedroom closet until the last minute to avoid wrinkles. Well, everything else had been packed for a week or two prior(I'm a planner) and needless to say I forgot them. Ended up buying him a couple of tropical print button downs at a open air market in Nassau and some ship T shirts...
What about you?

yea:)when i book airfare, the price i pay at the time of booking remains the price i have paid by the time i fly. If there is a fare drop, i can't call my airline and ask for credit. With carnival, i spend a lot of time researching fares, watching for price drops, filling out forms and phoning for credit. As i usually book cruises 9 months to a year out, and have 3 or 4 booked at a time, this means i spend quite a lot of time checking prices.
My question is would you be happier if carnival adopted the airlines' policy of the price you book is the price you pay?
I certainly enjoy getting credit for fare drops, but i might also gain several weeks of my life back a year if i didn't have to check fares so often.
Yea or nay?

As a relatively (3 years) recent widow, it's time for me to stop waiting for people to go on vacation with and venture out on my own. It seems sometimes when I read that most solo cruisers are young and, well, cruising. I am a friendly 61 year old not looking for hookups (or husband #2), but just want a relaxing vacation with interesting ports, hanging out with friendly people of any age, and yes, solo down time on my balcony to read and think.
Are there any older solo cruisers here? What has your experience been?
66 always cruising single love it.:)

Some things in life are bad
They can really make you mad
Other things just make you swear and curse
When you're chewing on life's gristle
Don't grumble, give a whistle
And this'll help things turn out for the best...
And...
Thank you video made me smile. :) Reminded me of my favorite life quote. "Most people are as happy as they let themselves be". Abe Lincolin

This reminds me of what my sister did to my mother. Has she ever done anything this devious before? If not maybe and I mean maybe give her 1 week to come up with the money. If she does not file charges with the police. My mother's health has deteriorated greatly since my sister robed her. If it was up to me my sister would be in jail to save others she has embezzled at least 7 times.

Lots more to do than on Royal less snobby people. Great food and entertainment. Way less cost.:)With all of the recent NCL bashing mainly about a policy change I refuse to mention I thought I would ask what is good about NCL? There must have been great attributes that attracted you to this particular cruise line to being with. For us it was the laid back freestyle type cruising to name one thing. -
Last I heard London was most expensive big city of all. Look for value hotels on Tripadvisor.com .Thousands of reviews.
Maybe look at some nice hostels.

Thank you for saying that. It is rude and my son has had his feelings hurt in the past by this and he does have learning disabilities. So again Thank You.:)Against rules to correct. It is important to remember that everyone makes mistakes at one time or another, and that there are many users who use English as a second language, especially on our Cruise Boards. There are also a number of people who suffer from learning disabilities and who have difficulty noticing their spelling mistakes. Do not make comments on the spelling and grammar of other users. It is simply not a productive expenditure of energies

Do you need a passport if you are a U.S. citizen?

Boobs Maxwell Boobs:)I just meant what is a pair of fakes / pair of normals. -
Try the brilliance wereever you look you see the ocean even in the elevators beautiful ship. :)The beauty of the ship and entertainment on the Oasis class ships. We feel everything else is similar to all the other mass market cruise lines. -
That's a good one. :)You can always take a cover with you. If someone gives you grief about feeding your kid, give them the cover to use as a blindfold. -
I agreeWhy do people have to be so mean....if you don't like the question...move on. Some of us are new to cruising. I know I will think twice before I ask questions on this forum for fear of being taken down by the "seasoned" cruisers who know it all but want to put down people who are asking questions that are important to them. Don't like it...don't respond. -
Great advice. :)When I go in I tell them in the beginning, very nicely, that if there are any products they use that day that I would like to purchase I will let them know. Please do not spoil my spa time with a sales pitch at the end. Works every time.If they break that rule it is reflected in their tip and with a conversation with their supervisor.

You will love Norwegian I do. I used to be loyal to Royal.:)We are a family of four, parents with an 18 yr old and 16 yr old. We have done two cruises: 10 day Vancouver to Hawaii on Radiance of the Seas in September of 2013 and 7 day Western Caribbean on Celebrity Silhouette in December 2015. Loved the Radiance, thought the Silhouette was beautiful but blah. Food was decent on both and that is important to us. Kids are way too cool for teen clubs but were bored to tears on Silhouette. We are considering a 14 day Caribbean on the Epic, but not sure if Norwegian is a good fit for us...Silhouette was an expensive mistake. Don't want to do that again... -
They had one on my 7 day norwegian.:)thanks -
Meatloaf in the Buffet. Shepard's pie in O'sheeans. :)

No nickel and dimming. Just don't order room service and I think they don't. Great entertainment great food. lots of good free restaurants. I used to cruise Royal Now only Norwegian Just as nice more to do and no Snob factor. :)Is this meant to be a sarcastic answer? Low prices? They have become the most nickel and dimming line under FDR. -
I really feel you should try Norwegian Has a lot of kids sail free great entertainment low prices etc etc.:)I'm OK with Walmart of the seas, as I do most of my shopping at Walmart and with a family of 4 kids, it is difficult to afford much else. We think that travelling is important and we even take the kids out of school to travel when it is affordable. (Although we will probably have to reduce this once they reach high school). We have done one Carnival Cruise and we are booked on another next Winter. We thought that Carnival was absolutely amazing. We are paying $110CAD per person perday (including gratuities) for our 7 day cruise next year.
If 30% of this is going for feeding us, we could not eat at McDonalds/Subway/ Chineese Buffets and Golden Corral for this price and I feel that we are getting much better food then these places (our normal travelling food stops)
The accommodations are much better than the motel6 super8 and similar hotels that we stay at when travelling, so we are happy here. And if another 30% is for accommodations, then this is a little less expensive then these options as well.
And the remaining 40% for moving the ship and entertainment. I think it is well worth it. Therefore I think that Carnival is an ideal cruise line and meets our expectations.
So as for value for money - Carnival can use the same slogan as Walmart - "Save Money - Live Better"

Hi Me too:)Still waiting for Tampa, Fall of 2017.Why is NCL not available yet?
I've already booked (did it 2 months ago) a RCL cruise out of Tampa for April 2018.
And RCL has Tampa cruises listed for Fall of 2017 too.
-
I'm encouraged to hear that the included food on NCL is ok. And it looks like my TA is offering a four night dining package per adult plus a few other perks for NCL right now (all I got for the Carnival booking was a little OBC). So that definitely helps the decision!
I love Norwegian. Did Royal before. excellent food on Norwegian. :)

I took that cruise a few months ago. It was Norwegian for the first time Loved it. Great food entertainment.

I agree with you Kathy however I don't think they will. Maybe you should talk to your lawyer about that Sharon. I know in Pennsylvania the state can actually make the adult children responsible. Yes We do have Moffitt cancer hospital here. I know it is hard to do but maybe you could write to her kids? Maybe one of them is decent.Karen, my God stealing from your own mother. That is just terrible. It is one thing to have a total stranger do that, but a family member is just wrong. This is just too much for Sharon to be a caregiver for her sister. Those kids need to step up and be responsible for their own mother.
