Does anybody know : coming from Germany to Canada without being vaccinated- not a problem any more. But are we allowed to get on a cruise ship in Vanvouver and go to Alaska ? To get in a cruise ship in Europe is not a problem for us any more, but have the Alaska cruise für may 2023 left (as a rebooking from a rebooking from a rebooking). Don’t want to book flights before knowing if we can get on the ship 😞

I don‘t know which cruise you are looking at. We will never travel to Alaska without having a balcony cabin because there is so much to see… we are also sitting outside after waking up in our Pyjama and a blanket…. the most important thing is : book the cruise if the price is good for you ! If it is getting cheaper it will be a nice extra … but don’t book the cruise when you think the price is not ok and wait for a drop….

Hi VMax, we are booking with different TA‘s the last years and never had problems with a price drop with HAL! (But if you booked the cruise with some specials and the lower new price is without these extras you will loose it - absolutely fair for me !!)

When prices for our cabins change we ask for the better quote and always got it. This is what an online TA says on their homepage: Preissenkungs-Service:Sollte der Preis Ihrer gebuchten Kategorie nach der Festbuchung bis 90 Tage vor Abfahrt sinken, fordern wir gerne eine Anpassung Ihrer Buchung auf den niedrigeren Preis für Sie bei Holland America an.

I looked for flights on flight easy for our cruise in may from Vancouver. Prices from Germany in Businessclass were 3500€ per person. Same flight booked at other web pages are 2700€ …

we are also from Europe and book our HAL cruises always as early as we can If the price drop for our cabin we call our TA and in a short time we will have the better price or if there is a better promo we always change to this one (just did. for our Alaska cruise in may 2023). For this cruise we are waiting for cheap flights in C 🙂

We were on the Riviera cruise Barcelona to Lisbon - the ship was fully booked. What I can say after ten days : it was a normal cruise, like we had in the years 2019 and before. You do not have to wear masks and you can sit near to other guests and talk and meat other travelers. Nobody wears masks during time on land, planes, airports and other crowded areas - so what is different on a ship ? The ship never felt crowded, even on sea days there were so much free spaces left. The Tote bags are not on the ship right now, we got that information after arriving in our cabin, because they are waiting for new ones, but they have some problems with the production. Absolutely no problem for us. Cabin and ship was always clean, food always very good.

Sorry we will start October 3rd

We will embark the 3rd of September in Barcelona. I think in the near future most of the travel restriction will fall. Most people are recovered already and in my opinion we will just live with the virus as we did before. Because nobody know what will happen we are booking only some weeks in advance right now 😉

Won‘t discuss about this any more. Yes we are from Germany and don‘t have to be testet at all before traveling in Europe even by car or by air. We only have to get testet to get on the ship. And therefore we got different informations and just want to do the right thing.

Thank you. This is why I said I do not want to discuss about covid. Everyone can have their own ideas about all that and that is fine. I accept yours and just want to accept with my opinion also. Doesn‘t matter if it is covid, eating or politics … I know that unvaccinated passengers are not allowed yet. So I thought Someone can tell their experience after the 3rd or what information they got before starting to their cruise.

We will embark in Barcelona. And do not have a Greek Port. The lady of Oceania Miami and the rules say „Antigen or PCR“ test. The lady in Europe say PCR. This is my confusion.

Do not want to discuss the C thing again. Just a question to the unvaccinated people going on board after September 3rd : I got the information (as it is also said on the homepage of Oceania) that a antigen test will be fine to get on board. My travel agent got the information it has to be a pcr Test. Maybe someone who went on board „just“ with an antigen test without any problems can tell me his or her experience. Thank you 🙂
