We have gotten over 4 inches of rain in the past 12 hours, and more is in the forecast today. Had a tornado warning around 6 am, but other than the notification, we slept through it.

This one with
Pepperoncinis!!!!!
On a weird unrelated note - I hate the smell of pepperoncinis. I worked at an Italian buffet in high school, and we had those in large jars that I had to refill from sometimes.

Do you ever have work days that crush your soul? That’s been this week. Sorry if that seems harsh but I’m being honest. If you normally follow me.., I could use an iguana today.
I had several days like that in a row last year to the point I said either we take a few unplanned days off or I was quitting. A few weeks ago, I had six unscheduled meetings, and during one of the last ones, the person could tell I was drained from everything.
On a happier note - just booked us on a quick trip in February that stops in Bimini (we haven't been there yet).

Yeah if you’re buying tickets off the StubHub or something…people have only been able to list them for less than an hour…I’d give it time and maybe more will be available. But they’re coming off a Super Bowl so maybe not.I get the official email from the team with Ticketmaster links but those are not available for single ticket sales yet. Plus the Swifties are driving up the prices in hopes to see her.
We didn't jump on season tickets early enough for them not to be outrageously priced, plus we both have season tickets for the local university team (not that they are any good currently).

Schedule release day. I would target the week 7 weekend or week 12 for a cruise. Wait...week 12 is out that's Thanksgiving week. Great. Week 7 is nice because it's followed by a road game. Potentially week 5 since it's MNF on the road and I'm sure I'd get to see it on the ship. But it's followed by a home game. And there's so many bandwagon Chiefs fans these days that might get annoying. It's like the Pats were 10 years ago. I don't see those guys much these days.
Sept 8: Carolina
Sept 15: at Dallas
Sept 22: Philadelphia
Sept 29: at Atlanta
Oct 7: at Kansas City (MNF)
Oct 13: Tampa Bay
Oct 17: Denver (ThNF)
Oct 27: at LA Chargers
Nov 3: at Carolina
Nov 10: Atlanta
Nov 17: Cleveland
Nov 24: bye
Dec 1: LA Rams
Dec 8: at NY Giants
Dec 15: Washington
Dec 23: at Green Bay (MNF)
Dec 29: Las Vegas
Jan 4/5: at Tampa BayNot a bandwagon fan, but damn, the bye week for KC is early. Ticket prices I've seen are ridiculous right now, hoping for better pricing tomorrow, but figuring most games I'm going to have to watch on TV.

Honestly, I'm having a little bit of trouble getting excited for it, so hopefully that passes soon.
I think once you are on the ship and disconnected from the internet, you might enjoy the trip more.
We had the same issue with not being excited about travel and changed plans three times before finalizing our fall vacation.

Friday evening was margaritas and a movie on DVD: Savages, which nobody has probably heard of. Only actor of note in the film was John Travolta, and he was only a minor part.
Blake Lively, Tayler Kitsch, and Aaron Tayler-Johnson - I've watched this movie multiple times and always find it entertaining. I wouldn't necessarily consider John Travolta the only notable actor in this since Benicio and Salma Hayek are also in this.

Well, we are all different creatures, aren’t we. I love grocery shopping. One of my favorite things to do while traveling is visiting a grocery store.
This is part of the reason we always book Airbnb's with kitchens when traveling internationally. A reusable grocery bag is always packed.

We have started fresh sweet corn season (it must be coming from Florida). All Cinco de Mayo plans have been hijacked by my love of corn on the cob.

Present. Almost made a sailing in 2026, but I'm looking at the week before you go for the Southern route.

We've done Bermuda and Canada out of NYC (it's our home port) before and I honestly don't love Bermuda enough to try it in the early fall. It can't be downright cold in Bermuda the end of September/October. Idk. If choosing between Bermuda and Canada/NE in the fall, I think I'm going north for the foliage. I'm not committing to anything yet since itineraries aren't even out yet, but I'm definitely interested in sailing VV from NYC because it's so much easier to make a trip work when you aren't adding travel days on to both ends.
We just canceled our Bermuda trip for this fall and opted for Europe instead (neither of us was excited to go to Bermuda). Glad to hear we didn't make a mistake by canceling.

Been an active 24 hours of weather here. At least five tornado tracks, with two of them being on the ground for 30-40 miles each. The closest touchdown that I'm aware of due to the destruction it caused was 6 miles from our house.

Right now I'm just hoping to get it for less than $600, which seems absurd when you're talking about a less than two hour flight... I've even looked into to flying in the same day, which I don't want to do, as it deletes my entire afternoon and evening in Miami...
You can fly into Fort Lauderdale for $368 roundtrip on Delta, non-stop both ways.

UPS tried to deliver my package an hour before their listed window, so I missed it. Unfortunately, it requires an adult signature, and now I have to work from home all day Monday since I cannot trust the window they give.

Pretty sure this is how I looked during my meetings today. Two more days than I'm off for a week.
