I was hoping to luck out with a good price for my Miami flights this morning, but it was not to be... I'm holding out for something better unless I end up absolutely having to pay these absurd prices. For this amount, I would almost drive down there. (***Not really...)

If you are willing to go into Miami and out of FLL, you can get nonstop on Delta for $476.

Car problems are the worst!!  I had to change the battery on my Ford Escape--what a chore!  I had to go to YouTube to figure out how to do!  I had to remove the windshield wipers, plus a flap, plus a bunch of other stuff and then angle out the battery!!  I'm going to check out where the battery is when I buy my next new car!

I've done this recently with my Escape.  They could have put the battery in a better location so removing the cowl wouldn't be the easier of the two options.  We had to get a special tool because the wiper arms were stuck.

  3. Been on a scouting mission this weekend to find the best places to get the ingredients to make a big batch of bolognese next weekend.  We figured if this sauce takes 5.5 hours to cook, we should use the best ingredients we can get.  Short ribs, pork belly, red wine, etc.  It should make about 13 servings worth, one to eat and 12 to freeze.

Pork belly led us to the Asian Grocery store, which is always fun to visit and we find so many different things to try.  I have a slight obsession with ramens and have four different varieties right now.

  4. Adding to the Santorini discussion.  It's a one-and-done for us unless we travel there via airplane.  Waited in the sun for over 2 hours to get down on the cable cars.  We had an excursion that took us to a winery and Oia first, so that part was easy, but getting down was horrible.

It looks like TxTeach will be in a similar situation since there are four ships in port leaving around the same time frame.

I love a good weiss - never saw this flavor, looks delicious!...Is it good?

Ok just did a search at my liquor store.  Found this - only in stock at one store about a half hour away - ordered some for pick up.😊

That is what I was drinking on tap. Smells like strawberry jam and has a slight tartness. It is seasonal and is only at one place around here so we stopped for me to get a pint since I didn't want to go to the store that had a few still in stock.

Wait... You're supposed to soak it first? Apparently I didn't read the directions at all. I cut open the bag, dumped it in the Crock Pot, and sprinkled the packet of spices on top...

No, you didn't need to soak it first, just add water to the crock pot and cook.  He was smoking his, which is why he desalted.

  7. I'm doing our corned beef tomorrow in the Instant Pot. I like the fact I can start from frozen and I find it to be more tender than in the crock pot. Cabbage, carrots, and potatoes go in for 5 minutes at the end.

With it being a Sunday we will miss out on Guinness for our normal brewery beers.

I just got back in. Glad it wasn't my account being hacked!

I was also concerned about being hacked but have two-factor on that account and figured that wasn't the problem.  Still changed my password.

Maaaaan those were the days. We took some fun field trips like that before the district cracked down and mandated they all be all lame and "educational," whatever that means 😂

The only field trips I remember are going to the zoo and the state pen (not on the same day or grades).

See and this is my hang up. Everyone on the ports of call pages are saying to go through and visit Nice and with Marseille, visit more of Aix-en-Provence.

I guess I can also wait on Virgin to release their excursions so I can compare.

If you go visit Nice, hop over to Monaco and look at all of the yachts. Just be aware there may be train delays.

Ok Tribe I’m starting to research my Barcelona cruise for August. Does anyone have any personal experience or “must do’s” in Barcelona, Cannes, Marseille, Mallorca, or Ibiza? I’d hate to miss something. My birthday is in Mallorca so we will probably do a nice excursion that day. Maybe 1 or 2 other booked excursions. Flying into Barcelona (landing) 2 days early. Should be a nice 10 days in Europe.

It's been almost a decade since we have been to Spain/France, but here are some things we found enjoyable.

In Barcelona - the Cathedral of Barcelona, Ciutadella Park, and the Picasso Museum.
Cannes - we just drove through since we were heading to the Nice area instead.  However, I highly recommend the French countryside (we drove from Nice to Paris and saw a bunch).  The fields of lavender were one of my favorite things.

    Didn't visit Marseille or Mallorca.

Then tomorrow she’s having girls’ brunch while I wait patiently for the extended True Detective S4 finale that can’t possibly tie up every loose end…

We have seen half of the episodes and now that I know tomorrow is the finale, we will binge the rest next weekend.

The math teacher next door just brought a Keurig from home. This is a game changer. Gotta bring a mug in tomorrow and donate some k cups to the cause.

I have one in my office and a gallon jug to get water from the closest lab.  Much better than the coffee work provides that I think is too strong and tastes gross.

I don’t have notifications set up because I get way too much email. Right now I have over 300 unopened emails. I try to weed through them every day. Anyway I follow the threads I want to catch up on (unfollow if they get boring) and just randomly check the site through the day.  All the new posts since my last visit are all in one place with bold lettering so I know where I left off.

I have 136K unread emails in my Gmail account alone.  No need for extra emails from notifications.
