Recommendations for snorkelling on our own with kids

Is there anywhere recommended for some easy snorkelling? We want to bring the kids 12 and 9 along snorkelling too. We have our own gear, just wondering where's the best place to go. thanks

Smith's Cove is an easy beach entry with stuff to see without getting in water that's too deep or need to go very far out.

Nice beach with shade, some picnic tables, simple restrooms and shower

NO food or food or rental chairs or umbrellas etc. Bring your own water etc.

Sunset House and My Bar are not too far of a walk.

Would Smith Cove's be safe to leave my cell phone unattended in my bag while we snorkel? I have a travel safe that I could lock it up in, just not sure if there is anything I can attach the safe to?

There's lots of trees you could attach a travel safe to. I wouldn't leave valuables unattended as there have been some thefts reported. These pics are from August at Smith Cove.

You're welcome. That small building in the third pic is the restrooms. I couldn't find my straight on pic of the beach entry, but there's a sandy entrance section to get into the water.

Is this beach walkable from town?

from main tender area, 1.5 miles

there are not sidewalks all the way ... and don't forget they drive on the 'other' side, so be aware of traffic

I've walked it many times but consider 1.5 miles a fairly short walk ....

any taxi will know where it is, but arrange a pick up or plan to walk back as far as Sunset House to find a taxi - about 1/2 mile
