welovetocruisetwo Posted October 23, 2010 #12 Share Posted October 23, 2010 Ah OK. So was this a daily AA meeting, but in disguise, so to speak? It is absolutely an AA meeting, no disguise about it. If you know anyone who is a member they know right off when they see the board and it states Friends of Bill W...that they have a place to meet. I understand the cruise lines (esp RCCL) go all out for them, giving them a really nice place to meet and it is always "on".

etoile Posted November 12, 2010 #19 Share Posted November 12, 2010 I admit to thinking the same thing about Bill W on my first cruise! I am so glad the cruise lines offer the meetings, because it can be really hard to be around the bars, etc on the ship if you are a non-drinker. Another term popping up now is "Rainbow Gathering" - this is the same as Friends of Dorothy, it refers to a hosted event for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender (GLBT) people. cruisingvirgin224 Posted January 5, 2011 #21 Share Posted January 5, 2011 Apologies for my ignorance (I have my first cruise coming up at the end of Jan!) but what do people mean when they refer to a 'aft' cabin?! :o
welovetocruisetwo Posted January 5, 2011 #22 Share Posted January 5, 2011 Apologies for my ignorance (I have my first cruise coming up at the end of Jan!) but what do people mean when they refer to a 'aft' cabin?! :o Aft simply means the cabin is in the rear portion of the ship. Forward means it is in the front of the ship. Two other confusing terms (to me anyhow) are starboard (right) and port(left). Good way to remember these two is port has four letters like left has and starboard has more letters. :-)
