Disembarkation time from genoa cruise terminal to arrive at Genoa airport

Hope someone could give us some information regarding time needed to disembark. As first-time cruisers we're a little worried if this is enough time to get past customs and immigration and get transportation for an internal flight Travel agent has us booked for a MSC Fantasia cruise arriving in Genoa on the 7th Of October at 8.00 am. They have also chosen a 11.40 am Flight from Genoa to Rome on the same day for a tour starting that evening. Appreciate any advice

There are frequent direct trains from Genoa to Rome. Usually at least 2 trains per hour and it takes under 5 hours.

Given the time and hassle it takes to and from the airport, Check In time etc, you don't safe a lot of time. Plus you would see something along the way. An option to consider.

Port to train station is a 5 min taxi ride

Thanks for your reply. The Flight time tables never coincided very well with the departure of the cruise.

It appear the trains seem to be far easier option

We disembarked in Genoa and walked right off and went to our MSC coach. Our daughter was flying home to AMS and went straight to the taxi line and was at the airport probably 15 minutes later. It is 7 km.
