Well...if its true...hopefully he can have a nice break to continue the healing process his whole family is going through with the loss of his son earlier this year. Wishing him well ...

From what I gather, and keeping in mind his public statement this week regarding him not going on a publicity tour for his upcoming movie release, I think he and his family are playing it low key. A 5-night cruise on the Enchantment is a great way to take a break in paradise without garnering a whole lot of attention.

Why on earth would he want to sail on EN? With the $ he must have, I have to believe he could go much nicer places and have to deal with far fewer people.

I agree totally. This man could probably buy RCCL lol or at least his own ocean liner. With all the upscale lines in existence I doubt he would select RCCL and deal with chair hogs lol.

I find this highly unlikely - in fact, I find it to be about as likely as pigs flying. First, given his stated desire to remain out of the public eye, it would make zero sense for him to be on a large ship with a couple thousand members of the public, where he would essentially be a prisoner in his penthouse suite if he wanted to avoid being thronged by adoring fans.

Second, given his financial status, it would make zero sense for him to set one foot on a mass-market cruise ship. There are far more luxurious, not to mention private and secure, vacation destinations for someone of his celebrity stature.

Finally, given his public statement about wishing to remain out of the public eye, if someone DID actually hear "through the grapevine" that he was going to be on this ship, it would be highly disrespectful to publish that information on the internet so that he would be even LESS likely to get a moment's peace without remaining a prisoner in his suite.

Just my humble opinion.

I know he owns several planes and I believe a HUGE yacht also, not sure why he would subject himself to the publicity and gawking.

I agree! Why would he put himself through what he would have to deal with on board a RCCL ship. People gawking and asking for autographs. Hardly relaxing in my book.

It's my opinion, too, that it isn't true.

But it could be. Celebrities with large financial resources DO cruise on Royal Caribbean.

The most recent report that I recall was Howie Mandel and his family. They, too, could afford to cruise on Crystal or Silversea, but chose RC. Perhaps they just like the family atmosphere???

Whoops, I guess I should've reread my post. No, I did mean John Travolta. I am just passing along some info I heard from a crew member on board. :o I thought you might find it interesting.

Paula Dean and family were on my cruise on the Liberty of the Seas.

Sure she could have had a private yacht as well. She definitely was there. I have pictures to prove it. Our table was next to hers. She loves playing at the tables in the Casino.

Remember, Thurston Howell III was loaded too but he still went on the SS Minnow.

(For a three hour tour. A three hour tour.)

Paula Dean also got paid for her appearance and her fans pretty much pay double for joining her on board shows - she is doing another one on Celebrity in the near future.

The passengers who also took this cruise without being a "PD member" were banned from several areas and activities. Not to mention having to wait hours for the boarding process, getting off the ship at the ports in addition to a very lengthy disembarkation process :(

I don't think JT is doing any "paid for" appearances at this time.

If I were an Officer for RCCL right now, I'd be doing everything I could to find the Crew Member who had so little disgression as to share this information with someone who could even think about putting it on the internet. It gives RCCL, the ship, and the OP a bad name. Sorry but that's my opinion. Flame away.

If what the OP said he heard is true, his friend might be playing a prank on him. We were on Enchantment a couple of weeks ago, and they announced that John Travolta was going to make an appearance at the 70's theme dance in the centrum. Of course it was Marc, the CD dressed like JT in Saturday Night Fever. :p And I must say, dude sure looked good to be wearing a white polyester leisure suit! :D
