All things Navigator of the Seas

Recommended Posts

I love the Navigator of the Seas and I think you will too! I was on a 5-day Western Caribbean cruise this past February and the April 2008 transatlantic. I will be on the April 2009 transatlantic which cruises to some great ports. The ship has just about all of the bells and whistles you could imagine, from ice skating shows to Chops. I am not usually a big steak guy, but I love Chops. The ship has sooooo much going on that you should never get bored. In fact, you will probably run out of time to do alll you want. Make sure you try lunch in the main dining room. Hardly any one does. It is really good! Enjoy the Navigator.

Hi, we just got back from a 7 night Medt. cruise on the NOS. This was our 4th RCCL cruise and we were somewhat disappointed. We had 2nd seating which was late, we did not mind the time, what was bothersome was that everynight they ran out of some of the food. And i felt that the food was just ok. The other problem was the toliets did not work right. We had to call maintence three times. That was just annoying. We also felt the elevators were slow. We were in a balcony on deck 6. Our stateroom attendent was great, but our friends, who also was on deck 6, other side of ship was terrible. They never saw her after the first day. Overall the ship was fine, we had been on the Explorer , the sister ship, so we knew what to expect. We of course had a wonderful cruise, and are sailing the Granduer next July, have a great trip !

Thank you all for your comments - they are much appreciated!:D

We have sailed with RCCL 4 times - Monarch twice and Vision twice and with Celebrity once through the Panama Canal this last April. Still kinda new to cruising compared to some :p Although Celebrity was very nice, RCCL was our first cruise line and we're used to their "ways" of doing things - It's a comfort thing

We're scheduled on our first b2b on the Navigator next February/March to the Western Caribbean. From the pictures I've seen, it looks like a beautiful ship - love hearing all the feedback. We're in a JS balcony on the "hump" ? - Our first time for this too!

Thanks again:D

We were on the NOS in March. If Brian is still there say hi for Mark and Elizabeth. he is the best stateroom attendant ever. We were on the 6th floor Balcony, just behind the hump. Close to everything.

That is a coincidence........we were on the Navigator in April of this year....and yes!!! Brian is definitely the best attendant!!! We were on the 6th floor balcony and our kids were across the hall from us in as inside room....if anyone is sailing soon....tell him that james, dawn, chelsea, jordan and jayson says hi! :D Hopefully he will be there when we sail next spring break! Had such a great time on the Navigator we are doing it again next year....just different ports tho!!

Sailed on the Navigator 7/05 and loved her. Sailed with a group of 20 immediate family and kids. Had a great time.

Lots to do with kids including rock wall, miniature golf, ice skating, shows, games, etc.

Really liked the Promenade, there was always something going on.

Every cruise I like to try some activity that I haven't done before and there were plenty to choose from on Navigator.

I'm going back in March with my sister for some girls time.

Can't wait

We have been on the NOS twice. Once in 2006 with our late teen children. We had connecting PR rooms which worked out really well for us. The kids loved every minute. My DS who normal doesn't go to sleep until after 2 o'clock in the morning, went to bed by 11:00 pm. He was exhausted from all the fun things we did on and off the ship.

DH and I were on her again this past January. My only complaint was the cruise was too short. Only 4 days:mad: I would go on NOS again in a heartbeat.

I was recently (Feb 08) on the NOS for the first time. It was my annual girls cruise (no hubbies, no kids, woo hoo!) It was a 4-night to Cozumel and I loved the ship! Larger than those I've sailed before and I had wondered if I would think it was too much. Not at all! I loved the Promenade. Vintages wine bar was great, they had tastings and tasting flights on the menu.

I'm also a big Gunniess drinker, so the pub was a nice place for me to grab a drink.

There is a cafe on the promenade as well. It was opened 24 hours a day. Great to grab a little late night snack. They had little sandwiches and pastries too, if I remember correctly! It's right next to the specialty coffee bar.

My husband, kids (5 and 7) will be sailing on her in December. I can't wait!

What did you like best about Navigator? I've been on the Explorer so I have an idea of what to expect, but what makes this ship special? I'm also considering Liberty, but have many with us who actually,( Can you believe this?), think a 7 day is too long. They're a restless crowd! I'm not too keen on the ports (Ochos Rios and Grand Cayman), so I'm not sure what to do. Any feedback?

We will be your neighbor in 9614:D for the 2/28/09 cruise. What a kick!!! I've heard from other threads that there is not much noise - we are on the back of the elevators. Are you doing a b2b too?

We'd love to know the preference of Chops vs Portofinos, although friends traveling with us said we'll just do both - one for each cruise :p

We had 9318 (on the other side) in May and had no problems with noise. Its a great location and about 10 seconds from the Concierge Lounge if you are Diamond or above. If you are doing a b2b, its no problem. They just left our new seapasses on the bed on the last night...and that was it! None of this being escorted on and off the ship. You can do a search for my review on the reviews section for the NOS (under the same screen name) and heres a link to my photo album which shows some of the ship and pics of the JS.

Evening,

Just this minute booked a 5 nighter for next May - got an aft balcony on deck 9 (E1) - good choice?

Jane

x

Hey English Jane, I will be on NOS on 06/01/09 right after you :) . I got a D1 stateroom on the port side towards the aft on deck 10. I think you got a good choice cause I was considering an E1 since they are similar, and a lil bit cheaper. Yet I was able to get same room number I had on AOS on deck 10 so I went for it.

This will be my first balcony and our first cruise without our children - we have always had 2 ocean view next door to each other before. I felt a bit overwhelmed by the balcony choice - the extra size of some wasn't so important as hopefully picking a good location - I know that lots of people rave about these aft rooms so when I saw one on screen I went for it.

Yes - we are coming from the Bay Area and have found it safer :p to travel the day before instead of worrying about it the day of the cruise. Would love to meet ya :D Turns out we're nearby (as we found out on another post) in 9614. My only concern about our cabin has been that we are a connecting cabin and do not know our "connecting" neighbors for either cruise  Another CC member said that the noise doesn't come through the closed door, but when you're a worrier, like I am

Thanks to everyone for all the feedback & pictures!
