Bomb in Athens and ??

Heard on the radio this morning that there has been a bomb attack in Athens (near the stock exchange building, iirc) and in some other place but forgot the name (and I seem to be too lazy to look it up).

It's 31 more days until our cruise, I hope nothing else happens in between now and then!

I just checked TripAdvisor's Athens forum, and a thread of this is posted there. So far, nobody there seems to think this is any big deal. Says that the explosion was minor and was at least 10K away from any tourist area. Plus, a poster there also said that there was another similar explosion in Thessaloniki. Apparently, somebody's trying to make a statement against the government in Greece.

I'm certainly going to be on my guard while there in a couple of weeks...

Here is some information about what happened.

More than likely you will be fine. Because next time it will likely happen in another city. There is really nothing you can do except to stop traveling when it comes to something like this.

Yes, I always tell people to be street smart when they walk around cities and that advice can help with respect to certain issues but likely not for something like this.

Greece has a history of terrorism by socialists and anarchists so this should not be a surprise to anyone living in or visiting the country. For tourists however, it's important to note that it is relatively rare and they don't target tourists or citizens of other countries.

:D

I didn't realize I was in a game for a score. It is just that I asked because posts like this can sometimes,IMHO,add stress to new cruiser's already stressing out(or other's for that matter) and they think they will be harmed when in fact they may not...just like the fires outside Athens..IF it were a truly big porblem there would be State Dpet. warnings and the cruisle ships would not go there.I am ofter curious why people tend to post this kind if info. I meant nothing bad.I will gladly take the 0.:D

BTW,just like the fires burning outside LA posted for any visitor's abroad would deter them from the US????
