stellatj Posted September 11, 2009 #1 Share Posted September 11, 2009 Sorry i know there are a lot of these posts but i cant find one that addresses this question. it says if you find any advertised price so while looking i see the senior rate is cheaper i am not a senior but its advertised so would that count as a rate reduction or no because i am not a senior. dumb question but someone has to ask. Ga-Fl Peach Posted September 11, 2009 #2 Share Posted September 11, 2009 I am pretty sure its only for a rate that would apply to you.
gargoyle999 Posted September 11, 2009 #3 Share Posted September 11, 2009 It's any rate that you qualify for. So you would not get senior, military, etc if you would not normally get that rate. So quick answer..no. :)

As far as I understand these rules, to be eligible for a senior rate, at least one of the persons in a booked stateroom should be senior. Just keep on checking the prices… Chelsea

No, you wouldn't qualify because you aren't a senior. Just like for Past Guest rates, you'd need to be a past guest, or to qualify for Military rates, someone in your cabin/party would need to be active, retired, reserved or veteran Military personnel. I'm glad you asked because I was wondering almost the same kind of thing. My 11/4 Miracle 8 day S. Caribbean price actually went up (AFTER it went down and I got credit, whew!). I check every day and saw that my same cabin class on the 11/28 Miracle 8 day W. Caribbean is $100 cheaper than what I paid. I was this close to filling out the form but I'm not sure I can. Does it have to be on the same cabin class AND the same sailing. These trips are exactly the same except one is South and one is West. Should I just send the form and let them tell me I don't qualify? I mean, that's $200 OBC!!!!

I'm trying to cover my tips. Funny how the cruise almost a month later than mine is cheaper. You think South is more popular or something?

The sailings right after Thanksgiving are usually slightly cheaper since a lot of people will cruise right before. That's why last year and this year I've booked right after Thanksgiving. :)

firefly333 Posted September 11, 2009 #13 Share Posted September 11, 2009 Someone else posted they put in for a senior rate and got turned down. They actually applied for the price drop and were upset they didnt get it, so you arent the only one misunderstanding the rule.

The rules say "eligible" fare. You are not eligible for a senior rate if you aren't a senior.... But keep on looking and monitoring the website....hopefully YOUR fare for YOUR cabin category will go down and you'll be able to ask for a reduction.
