Junior Suite - Was it worth the money?

Recommended Posts

It is the minimum suite category and it has a bathtub and a little additional square footage. I don't really understand your question. You could put the other 2 people in an a second stateroom, or you can tough it out in a junior suite.
The other suites are larger and they also cost more. They are also lovely, and much nicer. We have visited Owner's suites and above, but since we are only 2, JS is fine for us when we can afford one..

We are also booked in a JS for our August cruise, and there are also 3 in the suite. Will be interesting to see how it goes.

Superdav - Compare the pricing on a JS w/4 and the JS w/2 "and" an inside w/2. On our Mariner cruise in April it was cheaper to get 2 cabins (1 JS and 1 M) than 1 JS w/ all of us in it on deck 10. Even my travel agent didn't know this. I was just panicking last minute with 2 daughters and having to compete for one bathroom so I started playing with the options. And then...I could also use my C&A coupon for both cabins...decreasing it even more.

We thoroughly enjoyed the JS and would recommend it. The bathroom alone is worth it to me.

Even if your children are too young to stay in the M alone...you can have an extra shower. We didn't know if ours would want to stay by themselves so we had the sofa bed option available just in case, but they never used it.

Each cruise pricing is different though and it may not work out the same on your cruise...but it could be an option. Have fun on your cruise!

We had a JS on AOS and enjoyed it. It was myself, DH and our 16YO daugher. It had a wonderful walk in closet with shelves for your clothes and enough room for any suitcase oveflow that didn't fit under the bed.The extra width of the room was what made all the differnce and the balcony shared that with.

Our 16 YO was on the sofa bed and it worked out fine for us. It pulls out to the withd of a double bed, which is just slightly wider than a single, and she was fine.

I think if you have two little kids they can fit either sideways on the bed or the long way and you will be fine.

You don't mention the ages of the others you will be with, I am assuming they are your kids.

If it's another two adults, I think this is a wrong choice an you will end up feeling cramped and sleeping will be tough let alone bathroom use. But if you all are really troopers it is possible!

If it is for your family, our first cruise was in a regular cabin for 4 with pullman beds and we made it. You will too with room to spare in a JS.

Have fun!

If I were you, I would look into getting a JS and an inside cabin. We did that on our last cruise for our family of four and it was just slightly more expensive than having all four of us in the JS. Our kids are older teens, so they were able to stay in the inside cabin by themselves. However, they would come over to our room some mornings for breakfast on the balcony or in the afternoon just to hang out for a minute between activities. So we had time together, but we also didn't feel cramped all the time. You could even do this if you had younger kids with one parent staying in the JS with one kid and the other parent staying in the inside cabin with another kid. I think it would make a big difference not to have everyone in the same room ALL THE TIME!

thanks for all the replies. I did forget to mention that I have two young kids and thus the reason why we had to get a single room. We have done this in the past and our last cruise, we had 4 bunk beds and it was still okay. I liked the JS because of the bathtub. Our youngest has had little exposures to showers and on the last cruise, he really freaked out. I guess our view of the room is it is a place to sleep and shower. There are too many things aboard to keep us busy. Will let you know June 7th.
