* Angela * Posted September 29, 2009 #1 Share Posted September 29, 2009 Does anyone know if you can still use your sign and sail card in the casino to get cash? If so, is there a daily limit? Just wondering, we will be on the Millie soon. Thanks! Angela
patseacruiser Posted September 29, 2009 #2 Share Posted September 29, 2009 Unless they changed it recently yes you can use it and it costs 3% and I think the limit was 2,000 day
dkjretired Posted September 29, 2009 #3 Share Posted September 29, 2009 Angela: The big change was last year when they changed the cost to 3%. Sounds like you remember when it was free. Enjoy your cruise..
The Viking Posted September 30, 2009 #4 Share Posted September 30, 2009 Will it be considered a cash advance or will you get points on the Celebrity C.C.?
luvtocook Posted September 30, 2009 #5 Share Posted September 30, 2009 Unless they changed this as well in the last year, it is just like anything you charge to your ship account. It was NOT listed as a cash advance last time I used it. We got FF miles on our CC bill for everything on our ship account.

If you use your Sign & Sail Card then there is a limit and you get charged 3% surcharge. Take what you need in cash. Then if you need to make adjustments to how much you play with do it. * Angela * Posted October 1, 2009 Author #9 Share Posted October 1, 2009 Don, you are absolutely correct! I have an onboard credit and was thinking of using my sign and sail pass to take some of the money out in the casino to use when going ashore. Thanks for all the info, I really appreciate it! * Angela *:D I may be wrong but I don't think she's necessarily thinking of using the money in the casino... Tristesse Posted October 1, 2009 #10 Share Posted October 1, 2009 Can the sign and sail pass be used to obtain local currency when in port?
robtulipe Posted October 1, 2009 #11 Share Posted October 1, 2009 Can the sign and sail pass be used to obtain local currency when in port? No and Yes. Your onboard account can only be used to get US cash in the casino since that is the currency used there and you pay a 3% fee. You can then go to the purser's desk and use the US cash to get local currency at a rate about 5% above the interbank exchange rate so in the end the foreign currency will cost you slightly more than 8% (8.15% to be precise) more than the current exchange rate. You would be better off to use a credit card or use an ATM or a local bank or currency kiosk to get your local currency.
