Using Sign & Sail Card for Cash

Does anyone know if you can still use your sign and sail card in the casino to get cash? If so, is there a daily limit? Just wondering, we will be on the Millie soon.

Thanks!

HHHHHEEEEELLLLLLLLLLOOOOO *Angela*: My rule of thumb in the casino is cash is king. Use cash. If you use your Sign & Sail Card then there is a limit and you get charged 3% surcharge. Take what you need in cash. Then if you need to make adjustments to how much you play with do it.

I may be wrong but I don't think she's necessarily thinking of using the money in the casino...

Don, you are absolutely correct! I have an onboard credit and was thinking of using my sign and sail pass to take some of the money out in the casino to use when going ashore.

Thanks for all the info, I really appreciate it!

Can the sign and sail pass be used to obtain local currency when in port?

No and Yes.

Your onboard account can only be used to get US cash in the casino since that is the currency used there and you pay a 3% fee. You can then go to the purser's desk and use the US cash to get local currency at a rate about 5% above the interbank exchange rate so in the end the foreign currency will cost you slightly more than 8% (8.15% to be precise) more than the current exchange rate. You would be better off to use a credit card or use an ATM or a local bank or currency kiosk to get your local currency.
