Colorado Kat Posted October 28, 2009 #1 Share Posted October 28, 2009 The specialty restaurants sound wonderful! But since I'm a vegetarian, will there be any choices of entrees for me? (I do eat dairy & eggs) Thanks.....Kathy
reallyitsmema Posted October 28, 2009 #2 Share Posted October 28, 2009 I would go with Portofino. There is an eggplant appetizer and a wonderful pappardelle pasta with mushrooms. The tuscan bean soup might be vegetarian, I would check that out too, my son loved it. I had a beautiful salad with candied pecans. There is more that I am forgetting but I bet they would work with you. Chops is good too but it is a steak house. I don't remember any entree that was meatless. Perhaps you can request an entree sized portion? There are plenty of vegetarian options elsewhere on the ship.

(I do eat dairy & eggs) Thanks.....Kathy My sister is vegetarian and we have eaten there. They have wonderful salads and I believe a great mushroom pasta. Although this is not up to date it will give you an idea of the choice you will have. Enjoy. It is wonderful especially the Tiramisu. :) http://cruiseforums.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=276364

tiamar Posted October 29, 2009 #7 Share Posted October 29, 2009 The specialty restaurants sound wonderful! But since I'm a vegetarian, will there be any choices of entrees for me? (I do eat dairy & eggs) Thanks.....Kathy We were on the Independence in January and ate at Chops. DH and DS are huge meat eaters so Chops was definitely on our list of things to do. When we got there and I informed them that I didn't eat meat, they were so incredibly accommodating. They prepared something for me off the menu, which I can't remember what it was offhand, but the food was fabulous as was the service. I highly recommend going there and talking to someone about what they can do for you specifically and you might be pleasantly surprised. Colorado Kat Posted October 29, 2009 Author #8 Share Posted October 29, 2009 Thanks for all the help! I'll probably only go if I'm with a group that wants to go, and I want to stay with the group. But I feel confident that I'll be able to find something. They do say that the food is cooked to order.... Thanks! Kathy
