Mariner status question

I don't recall if I ever saw a definitive answer as to whether money spent for advance online purchases for items to be used onboard (like a winecard) counts toward Mariner status in terms of onboard spending. Does it count?

I'm not positive about the wine cards at the moment, but I know pre-purchased wine packages (Admiral, Navigator) and shore excursions do count. That's spelled out in the FAQ's. I'll see if I can find something about the wine cards.

 

EDIT: This FAQ answer says only Casino charges are excluded:

All casino charges are excluded. The Hotel Service Charge, Beverage Service Charge, taxes, prebooked shore excursions and gift items all count toward bonus Cruise Day credits.

After looking at my booklet: I was getting myself confused about the wine. The 25% and 50% discounts apply to the 3 or 4 star Mariner purchases of the wine packages, but all wine purchases, and wine card purchases, should qualify toward the $300 spending bonus points ... as I read it! :)

Of course I WOULD ask this AFTER I bought the wine card. I'm glad it counts.

The only spending for on-board items (either paid for before hand or purchased on you ship board account) which DO NOT count are Casino charges.
