Wait-listed for open dining--surprise.

It seems that open seating has become so popular you need to reserve it. I had accepted the late seating assigned to us when I paid for my cruise thinking, what the heck, "as you wish dining" is still an alternative if my family prefers it--which they do. My TA just advised me that she can only put us on a wait list for open, which may leave us with no alternative but to eat at the buffet.

Has anyone else run into this?

I very rarely see My Time wait listed. We do see both traditional times closed and My Time only thing available. Then the customer flips when they have to pp grats.

Perhaps you'll still be able to take advantage of the dining room...there may be evenings when late seating is the perfect time! Better than the buffet, anyway. And, once onboard, they may have some spots open for MTD.

It's always best to reserve what you want at time of booking. You just learned the hard way.

 

I don't think this leaves you no choice except buffet, but you can choose to see it that way.

Have your TA check it often, something may open up for your party. Also check when you get on board. They will almost always work with you to get a solution to the problem.

Maybe, it is getting popular. I am also waitlisted on My Time Dining. I have been checking but so far, still waitlisted.

 

I just hope we can clear the list soon since we do not look forward to set time for dinner.

MTD is becoming more popular. I tried to sign up for it in August for a Dec. 1 sailing, and it was already full. We're waitlisted on it, too.
