Best Place for Lunch?

Looking for a truly memorable lunch in Barbados in January. When I was last there 30 some years ago (gasp) I remember a great soup made from spinach (calloo?) and the fine flying fish as superb entries. Suggestions please on the island's best restaurant where my DW and I can once again dine on the island's fine food.

For Lunch I would suggest Brown Sugar. It's real Bajan local cuisine. From pepper pot, flying fish, macaroni, rice and peas and lots lots more. It's served buffet style.

Champers overlooks Accra Beach/Rockley, for those of you heading that way.

It's at the Eastern extreme of the bay, towards Bar Kan'ei

and then up the little road that runs behind Bar Kan'ei...

Skeete's Hill I think it's called.

 

 

If Fish Pot is at Little Good Hbr. I think that's a ways up North,

so if you're heading back from North Point/Animal Flower Cave

towards your ship, a stop at Half Moon Fort is where Little Good Hbr. is

to the best of my knowledge (kinda far out there to be honest)

 

 

L'Azure at The Crane -for those who head that way-

almost has to be superb. Nuff said.

Of these three,

Champers near Rockley is definitely the closest,most accessible choice

unless you happen to be doing the Northern or Eastern extreme of the island, anyway.

Thanks for the suggestions. L'Azure at the Crane looks perfect. I read another post about the beach at the Crane. Sounds hard to beat.

If you want to eat lunch at L'Azure, you don't need a reservation, but if you want a table by the window, it's a good idea to have one. Estimate the time you'll be having lunch and email the Crane at reservations@thecrane.com and tell them you want a table by the window, so you have the best view. You could also request an outside table if you prefer (cool from the breeze but no shade). Those always have "reserved" signs on them at lunchtime.

Thanks, Alpmac. That's a great picture. It makes me wish I was there now, but I have to wait unitl April. I do have pictures of the same view, but there are people in my pictures that don't want to be posted on the internet. Those two front & center in your photo are one ones that are frequently reserved.

 

Do you remember what time of day you took the picture? It must be around 10am? Those tables will be party in the shade by noon. Although some people like sitting in the sun.
