Fort Lauderdale Port Everglades - West Palm Beach airport?

We have a cruise on the Freedom in late March out of Fort Lauderdale. Prices for flights into West Palm Beach airport are excellent. Can anyone tell me how far away West Palm Beach airport is from the Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale? And what recommendations would you have for transportation to/from the West Palm Beach airport to Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale? Many thanks!!

Not sure if this link will work, but there was a pretty thorough discussion of this a few pages back - short answer, it is not far, maybe an hour.

Very do-able, probably you want to rent a car.

Consider the train -- while it is a little longer than driving, you don't have the overhead of getting the rental car and the stop is right at the airport.

I'm doing the FLL-PBI run on Nov. 29 on tri-rail. Tri-rail only runs every two hours on weekends, which is the only drawback. Weekday schedule is much better; check the website for details I have a mid-afternoon flight to give me lots of leeway. Flying in to FLL and back from PBI saved me a lot of $.

 

I've used tri-rail to get to FLL from MIA numerous times and it has always worked nicely.

Tri Rail is not known for timeliness and is NOT luggage friendly.....IMO it is a PITA..but to each their own...

 

some have used it and haven't had a problem...i would not even waste my time....been there, done that, never again....
