We were on Triumph in July, so here goes!

FTTF - worth the investment, IMHO! We were onboard and playing by 11:30; unpacked by 12!

Taste bar - We didn't indulge, but Guy's Burgers are wonderful!

Food - best I have had on Carnival, and I generally like Carnival food. The brunch is still in place on sea days, minus the Punchliner part of it - very good!

Shows - good; prefer the family friendly comedy to the adult shows, mainly because of the profanity. I am not a prude, but frequent F bombs are not enjoyable to me.

Music - my biggest complaint! It was so loud that you could not carry on conversations anywhere within a 200 foot radius - or more! If you like your music loud, you will love it!

Progresso - take it or leave it - not impressed. Cozumel - Nachi!!

Hope this helps

Awesome information!!! That's what we want with an Everything Triumph page:)

I've heard on some other ships that the taste bar area is sometimes set up as a breakfast serving area and is one othe omelette stations. Can yo confirm that on the Triumph? I've also read a ton about the "secret decks", did you try any out on the Triumph and can you give us any good information about which ones to try?

Thanks!!!

Last year the Taste Bar was just a small cart set up next to the bar by the casino. The 2.0 deck plans show it in the same place, but don't know if it's anything fancier or more permanent. I'll find out in a couple of months. ;)

As mentioned, the taste bar was a kiosk cart set up just outside the casino. Trivia is also played there, not a great location for it, IMHO!

The "secret" decks are forward on decks 6 & 7. There are benches but no deck chairs, I think. We originally had one of the oversized 4J interior cabins that overlooked the secret decks, but grabbed a balcony when prices dropped. Great views, though.

We just got off the Triumph today. FTTF is worth every penny.

Guy's burgers are real good. No big lines for food because there are so many venues now.

We did the new Jaguar Truck excursion in Progreso. Highly recommend. Coconut Beach is just as pretty as Cozumel. Actually saw lots of flamingoes this time.

Went to KaoKao to learn to make chocolate & Casa Mission for tequila tour in Cozumel. I will be infusing my Thanksgiving turkey with their almond tequila.

Do not miss the round brownie at Brunch. Almost better than chocolate melty cake & the presentation is beautiful.

Love,love,love Dive-In movies w/the new blue blankies & popcorn. :D

You must be coming out to the middle of the Gulf to join us because I'll be on her in 8 days and that is our at-sea day! Think you meant nine.

Lol you are right! 9 days!! I was quoting Firefly from 2009! Lol

We were on Triumph last Oct..before the 2.0 upgrades (obviously :p).

Had a great time and loved the staff and ship even then! My detailed review of that trip is here: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1727382

We will be on her again 10/26 so I am loving hearing all about her new upgrades. Can't wait to try Guys and Red Frog!

Just got back Aug 26th from a 4 day.

Loved the changes (we sailed her last Dec)

Guy's burgers and fries are great!! Burritos and tacos are too. Love these additions.

Renovations I noticed are mostly around these two areas....with new picnic style tables, etc.

Booked again to sail her Oct 3rd. 😊

We were picked up where you get off the ship. Walk thru the shops & they are in about in the middle with their Carnival paddle w/the excursion name on it. You read & sign the release & you have an orange sticker on ur clothes that says Jaguar.

We then board the bus...there were 19 of us max is 25.

The bus has a bathroom, seat belts,a table to play games or cards. Lots of windows. We drove out by the salt flat/flamingo road....then bus stopped & unloaded tandem bikes/yes we had helmets. Rode bikes to Xcambo ruins. Had some time to tour ruins then back on the bus. Drove to a nice lagoon where we received instructions on paddle boarding. It is easy. I am 60 & Charlie 69 & we both had no problem. They also had some crabs for photo ops. You go out 6 or 7 at a time. You have a chair w/cup holder to lounge around on until your turn. It was so fun. Younger children nedd an adult on the board w/them & you have a life jacket that is NOT cumbersome. Got back on the bus & drove to a coconut plantation...had hammocks, chairs, shade & a little beachy building for us to eat in. We all ate outside under the palm trees instead.

But before lunch we walked down to this beautiful beach. It is shallow wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy out & we saw fish swimming around us. It was perfect. Nothing like on the melacon - more like Cozumel beach. NO vendors to bug you. We were the only ones there.

Lunch was fajitas, chips, quesadillas, pico & tea. They cooked it right there. Yummy. They cut open some coconuts for the kids so they could taste the milk. Our guides Benjamin & Eduardo were very accommodating & time passed quickly on the bus part..we played games, sang & learned some history. Not a huge ride between stops but the ride back to the ship is a little longer but Benjamin kept us busy. They take you right back to the ship.

Take sunscreen & some water. I had on Speedo water shoes that I wore while on the board. You will enjoy this excursion.

Thank you so much for all the information! That sounds like a fun day :) I am so glad we picked this. Did you change clothes at all or did you just wear a swimsuit under shorts/shirt? I guess I could wear tennis shoes and take them off for paddle boarding?

I did change clothes but it would have been easier if the swimsuit was on under the clothes. You will need your tennis shoes for the bike ride & ruins. You could easily paddle board barefoot. Put anything you want in a backpack. We just left it on the bus at stops.

How far did you have to ride the bikes?

I am guessing you might hear some noise from the Club Rio lounge...but I have never stayed on that deck so I don't know for sure. I have stayed below lido before and heard noise and moving of deck chairs but never anything obnoxious and I am a light sleeper. You could always pack earplugs just in case, but unless you are planning on being in bed by 9pm you will probably be ok. :)

Love this thread, going on the triumph in November, have a balcony cabin aft on deck 6. will the noise from below be too too much?

just got off last week.. took the free shuttle to downtown progresso.. decent beach there and plenty of places for lunch. this was my 7th carnival ship been on the dream, magic, conquest etc and i can say the triumph looks great. all the carpet, the tile, the bedding, everyhting looked new to me. guys are the best burgers i have had and the breakfeast burritos at blue iguana are hard to beat. did they taste bar because essentially its a free shot if for no other reason. also did the alchemy bar however the drinks i tried there didnt impress for the price. like one was a basil somthing.. nah not that great. miss having the wok have a place called chopsticks instead thats a downgrade
