Cell phone use on board

Leaving on Independence tomorrow. I know they have cell phone service available. Do I have to "register" my phone with their system in order to tie into it on board or just use my phone as I normally would at home.

 

I know about the high fees involved for on board use and don't plan to use it if I don't have to but just want to know how to access the on board system. I have Verizon service.

It just randomly gives u bars.....so it does it automatically, no registration

Has nothing to do with your ship. Call your carrier (Verizon) and ask them for enabling world coverage on your phone.

You need to enable International dialing on your phone and update it using *228 before you leave for your cruise. It is fast, free and easy to do. You can get rate information at www.cellularatsea.com.
