Emeral Princess casino

It was actually kind of annoying. We don't gamble a lot - I just usually put a 20 into a slot machine and see where it takes me (not far on a ship's casino :D). I usually like to cash out at some point and go to another machine. This required setting up an account and then putting the money on our card. Then you go to your next machine and put the card in, enter your PIN and tell it how much you want to play. It's certainly not difficult, just another step.

The card is used for everything. Actually using the card in the Casino isn't that bad. The only downfall is that you have no clue how much your spending because if you don't use cash you have to charge the money you use to gamble to your card. Also if you forget to cash out at the end of the cruise they will send you a check but it will take a very long time to recieve it. We just were on the Emerald for Thanksgiving, and a lot of people were not too happy using the card in the Casino, but it really didn't bother me. For every 1000 points you earn, Princess gives you $10. I know that's not much but every penny counts.

I don't think I like the card idea. If I win alot, then the winnings would go toward my final bill. The winnings should be all mine and my husband should be paying the final bill. I'd like to have a separate card just for the casino.

Not so, you can withdraw your winnings instead of uploading them to your onboard account.

I agree with Mike on this one. Just take your cruise card to the casino cage, they scan it and you can collect your winnings. In fact, they can not be put towards paying your shipboard account off directly from your casino bank. Although they are both on the same card, they are dealt with as two completely seperate accounts. In fact, you have to make sure to cash out your casino bank on your cruise card in the casino before the casino closes that last evening, if you don't they will be sending you letters and calling your stateroom to remind you.
