Need Help Deciding......

Hi Everyone, I need help and you all are "The Experts", my husband and I want to go on our second cruise, that's the easy part. Now, we are driving, and its between New Orleans(Triumph) or Galveston (Conquest) NO is 12 hours and Gal. is 15, the distance doesnt bother us we love to drive, and the ports of call really dont matter to us either. So in you opinion which ship is more fun with more to do, or better food. We have only been on the Holiday and we LOVED it so we dont have much to compare things to. We would get a inside room cause we feel you only sleep in there and I would much rather spend my money on excursions. Does either one have fridges in the inside rooms(that would make my husband happy). And with the Triumph going thru the re-vamp, did it help the ships overall look?

Thanks for all your in put!!:D;)

I probably won't be much help...

NOLA is a great town with tons to offer and Galveston is one of the friendliest places I've ever been.

I've not sailed on the Triumph so I'm not qualified to comment but I have sailed on the Conquest many times and she's my favorite ship in the fleet. The cruise director is great, the Master of the vessel is great and the ship is beautiful.

My vote is Galveston and the Conquest but you can't go wrong with either ship...

The Conquest would be my choice. If you have a balcony there is a minibar/refrig in the cabin and it can be used as a refrig. Plenty to do and a nice ship and crew. You can stay in Houston and just be a short drive to ship. Have fun:)

I also can't fully comment as I've not been on the Triumph but I've been on the Conquest twice and really liked it. It's cosiderably larger than the Holiday so you're in for something of a different experience. As far as things to do (water slides, casino's, show ect.) I believe the Conquest and Triumph are pretty evenly matched- as are the room sizes and layout. In reality, if the drive is not a consideration or ports of call, I'd just go with the ship that had the best price for the week I wanted to go.

Iv been on both, and both are very similar ships. Triumph is a little prettier to me. Lots of black marble and white lights. Conquest is decorated more in blues.

Conquest does have coolers and a pay for dinner, if thats a deal breaker to you, otherwise the two ships are very similar. Triumph just a tad smaller.

I have been on both ships and sailed from both ports- I'd take either in a heart beat!!! If I were in your shoes I'd take a look at when you want to sail. Conquest sails 7 night Eastern and Western itineraries. I would stear away from the Eastern itinerary right now due some tourism problems lately. Triumph also has a 7 night itinerary, but rotates with 4 and 5 nights as well. I have no doubt you will enjoy either ship. Good Luck!

T.J.
