Mariner excursions

Will be sailing on the Jan 10th Mariner, and was wondering if anyone can comment on the following excursions - good, bad or indifferent. If you've been on any of these, I'd like to know if you felt it was a good value, if you heard from other passengers that a private excursion was of better value, etc. If applicable, specific questions relating to each tour are in parenthesis next to the tour name. Thanks for your help.

 

Cabo -

 

4x4 desert safari

 

Pacific Beach horseback ride (if you went to the beach after the ride, how was the beach? how did you get back to the ship? how long a ride was it back to the ship?)

 

Mazatlan -

 

Mazatlan Surf Center (this is a private place, but I don't see anything similar from the ship)

 

Puerta Vallarta -

 

Los Veranos Canopy Tour thru Johann & Sandra (how much is the cab ride to/from Collage Disco? DO you feel the tour is professionally run?)

What you need to figure out is what you really want to do...do you want a "tour" or a beach day...do you want to ride horses... do you want to shop?

Get a guidebook on your ports so you'll know what's available at every country/port....then, you can decide if you even NEED to pay someone to entertain you, or if you can do it on your own...many things are easy to do, if you know how! A bit of research can enhance your experience and save you BIG bucks!
